Today was like any other day at the Pizzaplex, fixing broken security bots and wet floor bots who had been broken by destructive kids. Normally you didn't mind fixing them up, but the number of broken bots was starting to reach absurdity. You had just finished attaching the faceplate back onto one of the map bots when you felt a tap on your shoulder, causing you to jolt in surprise.

"Y/N? You're being called to the Daycare." It was Vanessa, one of the security guards. She was nice enough, to you anyway, but always seemed uninterested in talking for long, preferring to be alone whenever she was able to.

"The Daycare? We just did a maintenance check on the power and everything, so it should be fine...what's the matter then?" Quickly placing your screwdriver back into the tool belt secured around your waist - which has a little Freddy face on the buckle, cute - you turn to face her fully.

"It's not any of that junk." She crossed her arms, looking like she wanted to be absolutely anywhere else. "Two more bots just got delivered. Well, technically two but you'll see when you get there." She paused, glancing behind you at the now repaired map bot.

"Not that we need anymore." She quickly turned and walked out of Parts and Services, without so much as a wave or goodbye. You liked her well enough, but good God it would be nice to feel appreciated by your limited human group of coworkers.

Letting out a quick sigh, you power the map bot on, only watching until it starts up with no issue. It's been in here so many times by now (both kids and angry parents alike were the cause of the destruction) that it knew how to get out by itself. Before you can even attempt to leave before it does though, it dashes by, halting at the doorway and giving a quick wave before zooming off and giving you absolutely no time to return the gesture.

Before leaving, you quickly glance at the clock on the wall. Only six more hours before you can leave. You do feel lucky to work the day shift though, it doesn't seem like it would be a fun time to get locked in with the animatronics at night. After locking the Parts and Service room door and placing the key back in its place on your belts key ring, you make your way to the daycare, having to push past the large crowds of people to do so.

After finally getting through the sea of people, you make it to the daycare doors, where two other workers are waiting, seemingly chatting about something work related. One moves animatedly, waving his hands around as he talks, and the other moves slower, only nodding in response.

You recognize them as the delivery staff, the ones that bring in the new animatronics and take away old ones when needed. Jeremy and Michael you think their names are. As you get closer they both wave, Jeremy a bit more enthusiastic than Michael.

"Heya, you must be Y/N right? We told Vanessa to give you time to finish whatever you were working on, but I guess that didn't happen huh?" Jeremy talked fast, and nervously rubbed the back of his neck, seemingly embarrassed by situation.

"No, no it's fine! I was pretty much done with it anyway. I kinda needed the change of scenery to be honest, it isn't fun to be stuck in that room all day." You grinned at the two, and Jeremy perked up, grabbing Michael's hand and opening the doors.

"Whew. Well I guess now that that's settled, you aren't upset?"

"Why would I be upset? You two haven't done anything."

"Cause anytime we ask Vanessa to do something, or anybody asks her to do anything really, she acts like we don't deserve her all powerful presence. Basically, she's kinda a bitch sometimes."

"Jeremy!" Michael reprimands him, but there's a grin on his face that matches yours, and you suddenly feel like the three of you could get along well.

"She's pretty decent with me." You shrug, and the conversation dwindles off as you reach a storage room. It mostly had extra supplies and blankets, pillows, craft materials, for the daycare. But as Jeremy opened the door, you could tell it had been recently cleaned out.

Michael takes the lead now, walking over to a computer sitting on the desk nearby. Looking around, you notice one animatronic, not two like Vanessa had said earlier. It's...tall. Like, scarily tall. Its head is a sun, the rays just barely poking out right now. Ruffles decorate its neck, wrists, and waist, accentuating the yellow and red striped pants it has.

Jeremy notices your staring and waves a hand in its direction.

"This is the new Daycare Attendant! He's still in need of some programming and test runs, that's why we need you, Y/N. We can deliver them all we want, but I don't know the first thing about making them run correctly."

"Test runs? So he's really new, hm?"

"Yep! New design, new endo build, and apparently he can be a whole 'nother bot. A moon version to the sun version. One for playtime and snacks, the other for naptime. Pretty neat."

"How does that work?" You eye the animatronic, getting closer as you do so. You suppose the rays could retract all the way, but that doesn't explain how the colors and design would change.

"I can explain!" Michael shrinks back as you and Jeremy turn to look at him, smiling sheepishly. "As much as I know, anyway...so um..."

"Go ahead, Mike. They won't bite."

Michael's demeanor shifts from shy to devious as he stares at Jeremy.

"Will you?" The not so subtle flirt immediately makes Jeremy get flustered, and you try not to laugh as he looks anywhere but Michael.

"Just explain how the damn robot works already!" He waves his hands at Michael, as if trying to hurry him along, before crossing them and huffing.

"Okay...so it all basically comes down to the light and the dark. Suns' AI will be activated when the daycare light's are on, Moons' when the lights are off. Their colors will shift too, and the designs on their clothes. I don't really understand how that works, but the stripes will turn into little stars." Michael seemed happy to share whatever he knew about the bot, while Jeremy watched him with a grin.

"Anyway, what we need you to do Y/N, is test their programming. Ask a few questions, see how they react to a person, basic test run stuff." He walks away from the computer to stand by Jeremy, before grabbing his hand and pulling him towards you.

"We'll be right outside incase anything goes wrong, alright? Nothing should, but we don't really want to overwhelm them on their first day here."

"Oh, okay?" You have the pair a shaky thumbs up, trying to push down the slight feeling of nervousness. "Um, what are the questions exactly?"

"Oh! Duh, on that clipboard by the computer. You just have to mark down their responses and if there are any bugs. Easy." Jeremy now pulled Michael along, opening the door when they reached it. "You'll do fine."

Then they were gone, leaving you alone with the animatronic. With a sigh, you walk over to the desk, picking up the clipboard before looking at the computer screen. It shows a few lines of code, along with a now empty box. Looking at the side of the computer reveals wires trailing from the device to the animatronic.

You'd done this plenty of times before, so you knew the box would show you what the animatronic saw when it was powered on. Pretty useful for spotting technical difficulties. Next to the box was a smaller one woth a question, the only answers being 'yes' and 'no'.

Power on?
