Carter was sitting at the table with the girls as they were filming Total Divas and they were talking about the something but it was definitely drama. They were having a small vacation in Miami for the show. Carter didn't want any drama so she stayed out of it but if she had to get involved then she would. She and Roman were having some relationship troubles but she knew they would eventually figure it out and make up. For now they were taking a break so temporarily broken up. He was talking to her about marriage and she kinda tried brushing it off which is how an entire argument started. Carter wasn't really ready for marriage and becoming a step mom to Roman's daughter Joelle.
Yes Roman had a daughter way before he got into a relationship with Carter and she knew about his daughter before they got together. Carter really enjoyed hanging out with Joelle and her biological mother Galina was okay with having Carter around. Carter knew what she was getting into but she was still young and in her prime so she never really thought about kids or marriage. And it wasn't that she was against it, but she just was afraid of it. She didn't want to get married unless she was completely sure she would be spending the rest of her life with that person.
So to get that off her mind she spent most of her time at the performance center training on off days which gave her time to hang out with Mercedes and Mercedes friend Pamela. They would train and hang out, sometimes they'd even get dinner or lunch but most of the time they spent at the center or Carter's apartment. Carter and Mercedes got really close and sometimes Carter would come to see Sasha wrestle at NXT which always made Mercedes so happy. Nikki Bella was the current Divas Champion as she had managed to take it from AJ Lee when AJ took it from Carter.
So Carter was enjoying her time without being champion because it was good for her mental health. Carter was texting back in forth with Mercedes because Carter was informed that Triple H wanted a new fued for Sasha as she had just became the NXT Women's Champion. Sasha was actually completely oblivious to this as Carter told Hunter she wanted to keep it a secret.
