There was once a time when animals, such as dogs, were bred in a controlled atmosphere. Personality and physical composition were of utmost importance. The specimen was only allowed to pass on its genes if it had the ‘perfect’ combination of the two. This selective breeding resulted on a limited number of offspring that were in essence, perfection. Compatibility to one another was also of high significance. A male and a female were only bred to each other if their personality and physical traits matched to make offspring that were better than either of the two could be alone.
It was only a matter of time before this idea of ‘perfection’ began to apply to human reproduction. The change came slowly: free online compatibility tests, health screenings for optimal birthing chances. With every year, the idea advanced itself into human society. Children were recommended by doctors, psychologists, and even teachers to take a government issued compatibility test to find their ‘soul mate’. Mothers, followed quickly by fathers, were coerced into health screenings before attempting to have children. All of this went under the disguise of ‘lessening the divorce rate’ and ‘eliminating debilitating birth defects’. The idea of perfection in the reproduction process began implanting itself into humans, and with it, an entirely new way of thinking.
Nearly 240 years later, the idea is perfected.
Perfection has been attained.
