Summer of 1987, a beautiful time for the band as the recordings of Appetite For Destruction were almost done. The guys had been very excited to release it, a constant feeling of anticipation and a strive for perfection. Alas, they had a good feeling. They all believed that this was going to be their chance of making it big. A wish to come true. Outside of the studio, most of the guys had their girlfriends or flings, except for Duff and Slash.

Slash plugs in his Les Paul, excited to lay down Sweet Child. As he shredded his solo, just like always he got into the groove, swaying his hips and grinding against his guitar, having no idea that he was getting stared at. When he finished his solo, Steven and Izzy cheer, Axl and Duff too busy arguing to get a clap but Slash didn't really mind, he just wanted to get the album finally complete and out there for the world. So, he didn't hesitate, he just went straight into the booth, waiting for Duff to lay down the main riff.

Once Duff finally came in, he gave

him a big smile, he loves that blonde haired punk more than he'll ever know, but he also smiled because deep down he's still surprised that the band wanted his warm up scale to be the main riff for their first major ballad. Even though, just like Slash always does, he plays it off cool, this meant more to him than the band would ever know. He felt like this riff was a thumb print on Rock'n'Roll, his own style of a Mama Kin riff just like his hero's played growing up.

When Duff started messing up, Slash started to look at him more which made Duff mess up even more. "Could it be the vodka?" He thinks to himself as he plays, trying to figure out whats wrong with Duff, "It can't be me that's distracting him can it?" He thinks to himself and then shakes his head "Of course not, it can't be" he shrugs it off in his mind as he tries to get Duff back in time with his playing but it doesn't work, instead Duff storms out.

"What the hell man??" Axl talks into the mic connected to the booth.

Slash shrugs and places his guitar down and walks out "I got no fuckin idea, lemme go talk to him" Slash says to Axl before walking out the studio to go see Duff
