7: Back To Work

Your Perspective

"You know the drill (Y/N), get up already! We have to head back to work, and I'd rather we don't end up late." Keqing said. I peeked a glance at her, seeing that she was sitting on my lap in her nightgown trying to wake me up. I felt my face heat up at this but nonetheless tried to play it cool.

"Hmmmm, I think I'm more comfortable like this, actually." I said, opening an eye at Keqing. Her face flushed red, whether it be in embarrassment or anger, is beyond me. The next thing I know sent flying into the wall by a very embarrassed Keqing adjusting her nightgown. 

Well, that's one way to get me out of bed. 

Getting up, I stretched before heading off to get cleaned up, and then get changed into clothes. After I got cleaned up, I pulled out the classic outfit that I normally wear. Now that I think about it, why is Keqing at my place exactly? 

"Do you really not recall, (Y/N)." She says incredulously

"I don't remember much from last night aside from bringing you over to . . . my . . . place." 

Keqing facepalms before asking that we keep what happened under wraps, lest Ningguang teases her for it. Agreeing, I made us a quick meal to eat before we headed off. There's some banter here and there, but we finished up and left my place and made our way to the Jade Chamber. We arrived, and spoke to Bu'yun, who helped us to arrive at our destination. Once there, I was about to head off elsewhere to attend to my duties before Keqing grabbed me by the hand, stopping me. Turning back, I gave a quizzical look as I waited for her to tell me what she had to say, considering she grabbed me so abruptly.

"Oh?"

"I-I just wanted to say, thank you for treating me to that break. It was rather enjoyable, and I wouldn't mind going on more of them with you." She says, playing with her hair, her voice audibly sheepish at that confession. I smiled, placing a hand on her head and gently patting it. 

"Of course, Ms. Yuheng. If you ever need to relax, you know who to seek. I mean, you're dating me already sooo-"

"(YYYY/N)!" She says, further embarrassed. I laughed at her reaction, noting it was probably because the other workers had arrived. 

"Very well. I'll cease the teasing for now. But it's no big deal, Keqing. I'll see you after work?" 

"Of course, I'll see you after work."

"I'll treat you for dinner if you're up for it." I said winking at her. A blush crosses her face as she rolls her eyes, before placing a kiss on my cheek and walking past me. 

"I wouldn't mind that. Alright, you are dismissed." She says, acting formally as the other members started to arrive too. I chuckled, before waving goodbye at her as I departed.
