...

Jungkook was restless. After that episode with Jimin, he went home, beating himself up for being so weak. What's more, he had no idea how he felt anymore. He didn't hate him, but he didn't want to be fooled once again, so he decided to try his best to stay away from him.

He needed a friend at this point, so he called Hoseok to see where he was. He found him on the racecourse in Gwacheon. He loves betting on horse races. Jungkook never understood the appeal of watching the horses race in a circle, but Hoseok's trilled face made him keep his opinion to himself.

They were sitting on the upper balcony. Their drinks stood on the small white table, together with a bowl of peanuts and chips, a pen and a small block of paper with writings and numbers on it.

Hoseok was following carefully the current race since he had bet on it. His entire body was tight as a spring, ready to jump in cheer if he wins, or drop in disappointment if his horse loses. Jungkook learned by now not to talk or expect an answer while his friend concentrates on something else. Instead, he drew the bowl of chips closer and started munching.

Hoseok half-stood-half-crouched as the race was drawing to its end. The ridiculous binoculars in Hoseok's hand, eyes glued on the race track through it, made Jungkook giggle silently.

-'' Come on. Come on! Yes! That's right! Go, baby, you can do it! Yes, yes, yes, yeeeesss!!!''- He grew louder and louder until he jumped in the air, laughing, turning towards Jungkook with a huge grin on his face. –'' I won, baby! I won!''

He dropped the binoculars on the table and started clapping with his hands, joyfully. The other people, who won as well, cheered. Others, who lost, look at them sourly. Jungkook just shook his head.

-'' Congrats, Hyung.'' – He said, smiling his toothy grin.

-'' You should have bet on this one, Jungkookie. You would double your money by now.'' – Hoseok said, checking something on his little paper.

-'' No, thank you. I'm good''- Jungkook said, taking a sip of his cola.

-'' You are too stiff, Kook.'' – Hoseok stopped writing and raised his eyes on Jungkook. – ''You need to live a little.''

Jungkook chuckled. – ''I live enough. My life is duty and danger, I don't need more.'' – He answered, popping another chip in his mouth.

Hoseok leaned back now into his chair, observing his best friend. – '' You need pretty things in life. You know what I'm talking about Jungkookie. Life does not just work. And don't get me started about danger. No, no, no.''

He shook his head and almost shuddered while uttering those words.

-'' You need to live an amusing, lively, happy life, full of love and joyful excitement, Jungkookie.'' – He nudged Jungkook's hand across the table. – ''You are young and handsome, and charming, you deserve to be happy.''

Jungkook just took an exasperated sigh. He heard this all the time from his mother.

-'' Have you heard from my mother?'' – He asked.

-'' Yes, we talked yesterday. She is worried about you.'' – Hoseok answered right away.

-'' I can see that. You sound just like her.''

Hoseok slapped him on the arm. – '' Aish, this kid. We are just worried. Yoongi Hyung says that you are unhappy.''

Jungkook groaned and rubbed his face with his hand, forgetting that his fingers are smudged with salt and he groaned again. – '' Hyung talks too much, and he is no better than me. He's forever in his lab, and I don't see you telling him to live a more happy life and to find someone.'' – He turned accusatory stare at the other man.
