Nene Yashiro walked down the hall, letting her feet carry her to the bathroom of her former boss - well, she didn't exactly know what he was to her now.
She hadn't seen Hanako all day, and he didn't attempt to visit her in class either. It had been one school day since they had all been able to make it out of the Far Shore in one piece, and everyone had just...crashed. They managed to get Aoi out of No.6's grasp and get Akane, Teru, and Kou okay again.
It was back to normal, or at least as normal as possible, since that between them happened.
Nene walked up to the bathroom door and stood there a moment, hesitant. She briefly thought about turning back, but decided against it.
Come on, what's the worst thing that could happen? Am I really scared of a little awkwardness?
Deciding that she was, in fact, not scared of awkwardness, she hastily opened the door and stepped in before she freaked out and ran the other way. Grabbing a mop, she started vigorously scrubbing the bathroom floor, her ruby eyes never looking up from her work even once.
Even when she felt the slight chill that always radiated from Hanako, the ghost that haunted this particular bathroom, she never took her eyes off the floor.
"Hi, Hanako-kun," she said, then fell silent, completely focused on mopping.
The boy in referral's cheeks tinted a rosy shade, "Hey, Yashiro."
There was an awkward silence.
Hanako decided to break it by saying, in a completely obvious icebreaker tone, "So... uh- how was your day?" It sounded more like he was questioning his own words than he was questioning her.
"Fine." Nene replied quickly, continuing her very important scrubbing.
Hanako watched her clean for a few more seconds before interjecting, "...You've been mopping that same spot for 5 minutes now-"
Nene blinked, then reddened as she realized that she had, in fact, been mopping the same place ever since she rushed into the bathroom. She scurried over to another spot in the room and started scrubbing aggressively, unsure what to do or what to say.
In her frenzy, she accidentally knocked over the bucket she was using, flooding the recently-cleaned floor with dirty mop water.
"Oh no!" she squeaked, dropping to her knees and trying to mop the water back into the overturned bucket. "Why do I have to be so clumsy-"
Hanako hurried over with a rag and started cleaning the floor, "Here, let me help you,"
Nene deadpanned him incredulously as he scrubbed, "You? Helping me clean?? Who are you, and what have you done with Hanako-kun???"
He paused for a second, then cracked his trademark smirk, "Ouch, c'mon I'd do anything for my favorite daikon."
He then had to dodge as Nene attempted to head-butt him in the stomach.
"Hey- take it easy! I was just joking!!" He yelled as Nene chased him around the bathroom with the mop, screaming as he floated high above her reach, "I AM NOT A DAIKON!!!"
"YOU JERK!" Nene shrieked, "Hmph, I can't believe I actually kissed you!"
They both stopped in their tracks, Hanako dropping to his feet. Nene slapped her hands over her mouth as the ghost's face began to resemble a ripe tomato.
Oh, shoot, why did I say that?! What if he doesn't actually like me, like the last time we kissed?? B-But he was the one to...?! Why would I say something like that...
