"You can't become a hero without a quirk."
One sentence. Eight words. Thirty-Two letters.
Who would have known that a simple sentence would shatter his world.
They say never meet your heroes. "It will only lead to disappointment." But can you blame him for wanting to know if his dream could become a reality? All he wanted was for his idol, a man he has looked up to for years without fail, was to tell him that he too could become a hero. Even without a quirk. To tell him that he could save people from burning buildings with a blinding smile on his face just as the great all might does.
But dreams are just that, dreams.
There is never a guarantee that a dream will become a reality. You have no clue if the thing you wish for the most will ever be yours. Even if you did everything you could to make it come true, there's no guarantee that it will.

Nada
Zilch
Izuku had the luxury of learning this young. His so called hero had crushed his meaning to live. The one thing keeping him from takings Kacchan's advice. "Go take a swan dive off a building."
In all honesty maybe he should.
His mother wouldn't even bat an eye at him. His best and only friend suicide baits him. And his hero crushed his dream like a bug under his shoe.
So maybe his should just do everyone a favor and jump.
————————-
In the end he couldn't do it.
Couldn't even bring himself to end it here.
How could he think he could ever become a hero without a quirk? It was laughable honestly.
It had been a week since Izuku met all might. And not a single day went by that Izuku didn't think of the interaction. Needless to say, our beloved Broccoli boy no longer saw the world in black and white. If heroes weren't always heroes, where does that leave villains? Did they have other motives that just destruction? We're they ever once in the position that his is now? Broken dreams with no where to turn.
Maybe the "villains" weren't so bad.

Walking to the convenience store to get a few snacks to sulk in piece, Izuku caught wind of a gathered crowd.
The sludge "villain"
The same " villain" that had attacked him had found its newest victim, forming a crowd around them along the way. Izuku turned on his heel to continue his journey for cheese balls when a tuff of blond spiky hair caught his eye. "Kacchan?" He blinked once. Then again. He was sure. The sludge "villain's" current victim was none other that Bakugo Katsuki.
And no one was helping him.
All the people in the crowd and not a single person was trying to help him. They had given up.
Izuku had no idea what he was doing but all of a sudden his legs were carrying him toward Katsuki. Running up to him and trying his damned hardest to get the sludge off of Katsuki to no avail. But still he kept on. Ignoring the weak insults coming from someone he used to so proudly call his best friend.
"Fuck off weakling"
"I don't need a quirkless deku to save me"
Funny for someone in his position to say such derogatory words to the person trying to save him.
When Izuku had finally heard the infamous "I AM HERE!" No words could explain his relief. He backed away and let all might handle the situation like the "hero" he is.
The green haired boy ran from the scene and restarted his journey to find cheese balls, hoping that Katsuki would be okay.

"Young man, you too can become a hero"
"Well fuck me."

Just a couple things to add.....the quotation marks around hero and villain are to show Izuku's confusion on how to classify them now.
