Carter's P.O.V.
I smiled watching her chug her strawberry milkshake, she would smile through the straw. She was out of breath when she finished, and then she would eat the cherry last and lick the remaining whipped cream off the straw.
She was sitting impatiently waiting for her food. She ordered chicken tenders with fries. Her drink was lemonade and her choice of sauce was ranch. She looked me deep in the eyes and said,"let's play a game," with a sly smirk.
I shrugged and nodded.
"Okay, I ask you a question and you have to answer and then you ask me one and I have to answer and we keep going." She told me with a lopsided smile.
"Ok, you go first." I said with a quick wink.
"Hmmm." she said. She tapped her finger on her chin and wobbled her head from side to side wondering what the first question would be.
"What was your favorite part of today?" she asked me.
"I liked how we tried all the ice cream samples at ice cream shop and didn't end up buying any ice cream." I said laughing.
She was laughing too. The cafe was filled with her gorgeous hardy laugh, everyone was staring at her but she didn't care. She kept laughing and her eyes twinkled in this special way I can't explain.
"Your turn," she said with the same smirk as before.
I thought for a second, what's something I've always wanted to ask her.
"Why were you so sad last week?" I asked hoping not to offend her or say anything wrong.
"My gramps passed away. I didn't want to go to school but my mom said I should, to get my mind off of it. I didn't think anyone noticed," she said with a sad smile.
I felt happy to be the one who noticed. It felt like I had a place with her.
"Why did you ask me out tonight?" she said catching me off guard.
"Because you're so interesting. There's something about you." I said truthfully.
"In a good way?" she asked curiously.
"In the best way possible." I said and she smiled at me.
We were currently sitting on a swing at a park we found on the walk we took after we ate. It was around eight thirty PM and we both were kinda silent. We both swung as high as we could and we were screaming at the top of our lungs while laughing. Then she jumped off the swing and my heart stopped scared that she would hurt herself but then she did a little spin in the air and I breathed a sigh a relief when I heard her laughing.
She jumped back on the swing and screamed as loud as possible, "I'M THE QUEEN OF THE WORLD!!!", she said out of breath.
This girl was crazy. Absolutely amazingly crazy and that made me even more crazy about her. She sat back down next to me and she was breathing heavy so tired from all her running and screaming. Then she said, "this was so fun, thank you for taking me here," she said with this twinkle in her eye. Then she said "you wanna hang out again next week?" she said flashing her pearly whites.
"Of course, I'd love too." I said my heart beating faster and faster.

We hung out almost everyday, after that second hang out. If we didn't see each other then we'd talk on the phone for a few hours. I planned a date after we had been hanging out for months. I asked her casually and she said yes before I even finished my sentence. It was something we've never done before and I hoped she would like it. I picked her up and I still remember what she wearing. It was a strapless white summer dress with brown sandals and her hair was curled.
