Chapter Five: Meeting the Rest of the Akatsuki

Chapter Five

So after that event filled week, it's the weekend again. Deidara started to be friendlier with you after you found out his little secret. You never get that much time to be together though, because Tobi keeps coming over. Even though that happens a lot, you like things the way they are right now; You're kind of happy. The only thing is you haven't seen Itachi since he took you back to your house. You're starting to get a bit worried about him. Yeah, it hasn't been that long, but still... Sasori? You're sort of hoping you won't see him again, especially after hearing about the threat."Hey, ______-Chan." Deidara starts, walking into the room. "You ready to go-Yeah?" You look at him in a confused way. "To go meet the rest of Akatsuki-Yeah! Did you forget?" He asks with a smile and gives you a little nudge. You smile back."Thank you for reminding me Deidara-Kun. I guess I did forget... Um, is Itachi-Sempai going to be there?" You ask uncertainly. Deidara gives you a look that makes you think it would probably have been better if you hadn't brought this up. "It's just I'm worried about him and..."

You trail off. Deidara's expression softens."What do you need to be worried about him for-Yeah?" He states more than asks, crossing his arms sulkily. "He can take care of himself... How should I know if he's going to turn up or not-Yeah? Come on, you've been waiting for this and I'm not going to let Itachi ruin that. Let's go-Yeah!" And with that, the two of you walk out of Deidara's house."Deidara-Sempai!" Tobi jumps out from where he had been, now facing the two of you directly. "Tobi was waiting for you and _______-Chan to come out! Tobi's going to help you introduce the rest of Akatsuki Sempai! Tobi's a good boy!" He stops as Deidara gives him an annoyed glare. It doesn't really look like he wants any help. Not from Tobi of all people. "We're going to the beach ______-Chan!" Tobi exclaims excitedly after his moment's pause, flailing his arms around happily as he says this."The beach?" You ask, looking up at the sky. "But it's already getting dark Tobi-Kun. I thought that maybe we would meet them somewhere else... Especially with it being Winter and cold." Deidara doesn't give Tobi the chance to answer you."It's not like the beach was mine or Tobi's idea-Yeah!" He replies, shoving Tobi aside. "Someone else in Akatsuki said that's where we should meet and we just went along with it. And with it being night, no-one's going to notice us as much that way-Yeah... Some of us could stand out a bit." You nod.

You don't really follow what Deidara is saying that well, but already you think the members of Akatsuki stand out to you."Let's go ______-Chan!" Tobi shouts, grabbing you by the arm and starting to run off. 'The beach is miles away...' You think to yourself. 'It'll probably be morning by the time we get there if we keep going like this.' Just then, Deidara comes up to the side of you both flying low on one of his birds."Tobi! It would be faster if we flew there-Yeah!" Deidara tells him. Tobi stops to think about this for a minute as Deidara helps you onto the bird. The two of you end up flying off, with Tobi only just managing to grab onto part of the bird's tail before you're out of reach. You help him climb on too. "I didn't mean to leave him behind-Yeah." Deidara says defensively. For some reason you find it hard to believe him."Isn't this great ______-Chan?" Deidara asks as you fly through the sky. "Not having to worry about whatever's happening down below, just... Flying-Yeah."

You are happy to agree with him. This is fun, and it makes you feel so carefree. It's a perfect night as well, stars out everywhere and a gentle, refreshing breeze. The only thing that might be ruining it a little is that Tobi keeps grabbing onto you, insisting he will fall off if he doesn't. "Tobi let go of her-Yeah!" Deidara tells him, feeling the moment has been lost, again. "We're landing now anyway."Once you land on the beach, you jump off of the bird followed by Deidara and Tobi, you feel kind of excited about this. It's not even as dark as you thought it would be. There are those Japanese paper lantern thingies hanging everywhere, all of them a glowing red. There's food set up too. This looks more like a party thananything else. "Hey, Deidara-Kun?" You start. "I thought that the Akatsuki were meant to be an evil group that likes no-one. As far as I know... parties aren't that evil." You comment, looking around the people that were there in some amazement. Deidara was right, they really would stand out."How should I know what's going on-Yeah? It's not like I planned any of this. Itachi just told me you wanted to meet rest of Akatsuki, so I just thought I'd bring you along-Yeah..." As soon as Deidara says these words, you look over all the party goers again. No, Itachi isn't there. You don't even notice Deidara's blushing until Tobi points it out."Deidara-Sempai! You really do like ______-Chan!"
