Walking through the hallways, all that could be heard was the loud sound of students rushing to their first period class. Everyone huddled around the halls in their groups. The Popular Kids who everyone seemed to adore, the Science Nerds, and the Junkies. See I didn't have a certain cliché. I didn't see the use of having lots of friends over actual loyal ones.
I quickly gathered up all my things for my first class, then shut my locker. " Hey Grace Face," greeted my best friend Anna.
Gosh I missed her, all summer her and her family left for a nice cruise and it felt like I haven't seen her in forever. Unlike her I spent my summer like every other person. Doing nothing. See me and Anna have been together since I could remember. She was truly the only person who understood me. I don't have much friends, but she kind of fills that hole up. I really don't know what I would do without her tbh.
"Anna, I missed you so much!" I shouted while giving her the biggest hug.
"I know I missed you too, how was your summer?" she asked. I filled her in on my non excited summer break, while walking to our first period class. Being the clumsy me, I accidentally bumped shoulders with someone. Great, good job Grace.
As a result all my books and papers fell and spread all across the jam packed hallway. "I'm really sorry, I didn-" I began to stutter but lost my train of thought as I connected eyes with the loveliest pair of green eyes.
"I really didn't mean to bum-" I started,
"Just watch where your going next time, okay?" the guy rudely replied back. He brought his hand up to run his fingers through his brown, chestnut, windswept hair out of frustration. It was a bit messy but it suited him well. He was wearing a black button up shirt with a silver cross pendant. He had the darkest shade of black jeans on with rips on the knee line.
" I said I was sorry, you don't have to be so rude about it." I replied back rather annoyed.
"Well, if you would watch where you were going, I wouldn't have to be so rude." he shot back. I couldn't believe it, how could someone so attractive like him, have such a terrible attitude.
"Yeah, well I wouldn't want to be much of a burden for you so ill just leave." I told him while picking up all my stuff from the floor. After I had got myself settled, I had just realized that Anna was nowhere in sight. She must have gone ahead without me.
By then the late bell had rang. Just my luck, I was late. All because that dumb jerk. I groaned silently as I grabbed the doorknob to my class. Ready to face the humiliation of everyone staring at me. I wasn't one to enjoy the attention of others, I didn't exactly like being alone all the time, but it was just easier than always having your name in peoples conversations. I quickly twisted the knob only to have it let out a horrendous creak and have everyone turn their heads towards me. So much for sneaking in quietly.
"Ms. Hayler, may I know why you were late?" the teacher asked.
"I- uh-I just" I stuttered. Wow I really do stutter a lot don't I?
"Never mind just take a seat next to Mr. Styles." he replied back. I quickly scanned the room wondering who this Mr. Styles guy was, only to get the answer I wish I didn't. I instantly saw the only seat left next to him. From that moment on, I knew it was gonna be a long day.
