Bravery? Ha!

Chapter two

Warning: there will cuss words.

I wake to the smell of pancakes.
"LYNN GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE! ITS 7:50!" My mom yells from the kitchen. I quickly swing my legs off the bed and run to the shower, grabbing a towel on the way there. I get out of the shower and grab some clothes from the closet. I change as fast as I can, run down stair, take a waffle and my keys. Eating the waffle on the way to my motorcycle. I get on, finish my waffle and and drive to school. (With a helmet )I park and look at the time. 7:59. I sprint to my first class and make it 5 seconds before the bell rings.

First class was boring.
"Hey" says Marlene. I have this huge crush on her. Im bi. not les. for all I know...
"Hey" I say casually.
"Today is the big day. the day where we get our test to see what our jobs are. IM SO EXCITED! ARE YOU?!" She yells the last part.
"FUCK YEAH IM EXCITED!" I yell. Everyone looks and laughs. uriah comes up behind me and picks me up on his shoulder, and starts spinning.
"ARE YOU EXCITED LYNN?!?"
"IM EXCITED URIAH!" He puts me down and gives me a hug that almost crushes me. He grabs Marlene and kisses her. I shake it off cause I'm used to it. I see Christina, Will, and a girl I don't know jog toward us.
"Guys this is Tris." Christina says she they reach us. Then she points at each of us saying our names. Uriah goes up to Tris and picks her up, starts spinning, and yells
"ARE YOU EXCITED?!?"
"AHHHHHH" She screams and we laugh. He puts her down and she starts laughing.
"WOO! That was fun!" We all laugh and then Shauna, Zeke, and four jog to us. Zeke tackles Uriah and screams
"ARE YOU EXCITED?!?"
"FUCK YEAH IM EXCITED" during this Marlene introduces Tris to four and Shauna.
Four stares a bit longer than needed but I don't think she noticed. What's he staring at? She's not that special. she has pretty eyes sure. but pretty face? Nahh.
"Attention!" Max screams. we all line up in formation.
"Today is your tests to determine what your job will be when you actually go to the military, you will be taking the tests with one person. You will be working in teams of two. Choose your partner!" Marlene runs to me and grabs me. I smile and blush. Max takes record of who's with who and puts us in a room. There's three areas to the room. Girl teams, boy teams and boygirl teams. Marlene and I get to the girl teams area. Max said to sit on the floor. And he will call the first team for their test.
"Uriah and Zeke." they go in making a bunch of pumped noises. They go. They call one group from each area. one hour later Marlene and I are called. we go into a room. Oh my god. this is the simulation room. This is gonna be awesome. Since we both turned 18 a couple months ago. we sign a paper and they inject is with a serum. everything goes black for a second and then we are on a battle field.
How did I get here?
We are dressed in military gear. I grab my Ak47 off the floor. Marlene looks at me. she's scared. I grab her arm and tell her
"There's nothing to be scared of. we were trained for this." she nods and grabs her gun. I take out my PDA to see what the mission is. we need to break into the base and take the leader as hostage. easy enough. I see a car and get in it. Marlene goes to the passenger side and I see the keys in the ignition. I turn on the car and start to drive away from the battle field.
"What are you doing?!" Marlene asks.
"I'm taking us around. To get to the back of the base and get in undetected."
"Okay. Sounds easy enough." We drive for about a half an hour then we get to the back wall. it's about 29 ft high. but it has cracks. I start to climb. Marlene follows me cautiously. I make it to the top. Marlene is about to when her hand slips. I grab her other hand before it falls too and pull her up. there's a building a couple feet from the wall so I jump. Marlene jumps and makes it easily. we go into the building. its empty. We get to the ground. I pass through the door and feel something on my head.
A gun.
I stop in my tracks and look to see who it is. some guy I don't recognize.
"Who are you?" He asks with a Russian accent. i stay silent.
"Perhaps you should answer me when I have a gun to your head" I again stay silent. he grabs my arms and then Marlene's. She looks like she's about to cry. I give her a nod saying "be brave".
She nods and looks down. we are taken to the center of the base.
