The Day Before - 10AM
My phone buzzes as the alarm I set the night before goes off. I groan and try to sleep through and then realize that's not possible. I sit up and turn the alarm off, not wanting to go to school or work today. Thankfully though it's Friday and I won't have to do anything tomorrow.
I just throw on some sweatpants over the shorts I wore to sleep in and an old hoodie I have over me and throw my hair up into a bun, knowing I'll have enough time to change and look presentable for work.
I walk out of my room and see my roommate, Ella, eating a bowl of cereal while on her phone.
"Hey El" I grumble as I grab an apple for breakfast
"Hey" She says back a little startled considering she just realized I was there
"Is Syd still asleep?" I ask about our other roommate Sydney, who sleeps all the time. I have no idea how she is passing all her classes.
"That girl could sleep through the end of the world if she wanted to." Ella says while getting another bowl of cereal.
"Okay well I only have one class today at 11, so I better get going." I tell her as I grab my purse and books.
"Ok. Do you work today?" She asks while pouring her milk
"Yeah, but I don't have to go in until around 5 since they're having that party thing tonight." I say like it's a burden, but I'm really excited about it.
"Oh, yeah I remember you telling me about that. What's it for again?" She's says with a light chuckle because she's always forgetting things.
"We got like a big account or something. I'm not 100% sure. All I do know is that everything has to be perfect because we have to "woo" our new client." I say the last sentence in a voice mocking my boss and Ella softly chuckles.
"Ok well I better get going; I'll see you later!"
"Ok. Bye, have a great day at school honey" She yells as I walk out the door, laughing to myself about the stupid inside joke we have.
1 PM
The minute I get back to my apartment I hop in the shower, knowing my hair is going to take the longest to do. Even though I;m just going to leave it in it's natural, curly state, it still takes forever to dry.
Once I get out of the shower I add some product to my hair to make it not frizzy and get to work on my outfit. I bought a really cute dress a while back and this is the first opportunity I've had to wear it so I'm super excited. But all I have for shoes are my vans and converse and those may be frowned upon to wear.
"Sydney!" I yell, knowing she probably has some.
"Yes?" She walks in in sweatpants and a band shirt.
"Do you have any shoes I could wear with this for tonight?" I say while gesturing to my dress. She stands there looking me over and then suddenly her face lights up in a mischievous way.
"I know just the ones." She says in a creepy voice and before I have the chance to protest she's already running back to her room.
About 15 min later she comes back with her hands behind her back.
"Sorry, I could only find one. The other was on top of my bookcase somehow. But here you go." She pulls out these gorgeous red pumps and hands them to me.
"Are you sure these are appropriate? And also they look really expensive."
"They are but I trust you and of course they're appropriate! This event it to "woo" some big shots right?" She's says mocking my boss in the same voice I do and I nod, "Then these definitely will."
I smile brightly and nod "Thank you so much Syd."
"No probs babe, just don't fuck them up" She laughs and leaves my to finish getting ready.
