A friend?

"I'm getting hungry, are you sure there aren't any alleyways nearby?"

We had been walking for a decent amount of time, i don't know how long but Jesus i was starving.

"I'm not quite sure Ami, hopefully we'll find something soon." I just sighed and kept walking. We haven't told Oliver and his kids that we don't have anywhere to stay because dad didn't want to worry them. That and I think dad just doesn't want to tell anyone out of embarrassment, not that he really had friends other than Oliver anyways,

It's my mom's birthday in five days. We can't even celebrate it, we've always celebrated it, well, i have since she died, but we can't this year and I hate it. I have some money but dad says we have to save it.

~15 minutes later~

We finally found a small alley, we lucked out and found a small dirty mattress, it was in a really small area so we were decently safe, or so I hoped anyway.

I looked around and sighed "I'm gonna go look around for a bit, it's only 4:45, and I want to see what I have to do while we're here." My dad nodded and I started towards the street, I planned on getting some food too, thankfully we weren't too far from our town, so I can still go to school. I don't want 'Rugi to worry so I won't tell him about my "situation" for now.

I found a dollar store nearby and stopped inside to grab some things, some food to last us for a bit and some water. I probably shouldn't have but i grabbed myself a monster as a treat, I knew I'd probably need a way to stay up at some point. then I headed back to dad.

"I got us some snacks and water to hold us over, Dad."
"Thank you, but I could've used my money." I shook my head and sat down on the mattress, pulling the things out of the bag. I was tired and had to make sure I got up a little earlier to make it to my old bus stop. I Sat on the mattress and took out mom's music box, I just listened for a little while before i finally layed down and closed my eyes as I drifted off.

I got up and dad was still asleep, I wrote out a note, "went 2 bus, love you" set it on the mattress and quickly grabbed my school bag and stuffed some clothes inside, I'd have To use the school showers if I wanted to shower at all.

I managed to make it to the bus stop a couple minutes early, as it pulled up I found 'Rugi sitting in his usual seat so I slid in next to him.
"Good morning Runa! Is your dad doing any better?"
Whyd he have to ask about dad now. I'd have to lie obviously, I hated lying to him though.
"Yeah he's been pretty good lately actually, I think he might start coming out of his room more!" Obviously. He doesn't have a room to *be* in anymore,
"Oh yay!! Im glad!" He smiled and we talked for a couple minutes before the bus stopped at the school, we headed off and 'rugi runs up, to him. What the hell?
"Hi love!!"

Love!? Don't tell me. He better not be.

But oh just my luck.

"Good morning," he grinned at me, that fucking bastard! Enerugis dating DEAN?! I hate that asshole. Man I hate him. When did this happen? Why didn't he tell me? Great. Just what Rugi needs. I sighed and headed towards the locker rooms, I better shower before school starts.

I twisted the shower nob, the water was warm, it felt nice, especially after sleeping on a cold broken mattress all night. I looked around one last time to make sure nobody was in the room before I set my clean clothes outside of the showers and hopped inside. I stayed there for ten minutes before finally finishing and getting dressed. Still 15 minutes until homeroom.

"Hello? Is someone in here?" An unknown voice had asked, I hoped it wasn't a teacher because technically we weren't allowed in here before school starts, but I'm sure they'd understand in my case.
"Uhm, h-hello! I just finished in here You can come in," I yelled back, a girl a bit taller than me entered the locker room, she was really pretty, she had this dark aqua-ish sort of hair, more of a teal color I suppose, I'm not sure. And bright yellow-orange eyes. I'd never seen her before, but she looked nice enough.
"Hello, I'm kotora, sorry for bothering you- I just wondered why the showers were on."
"Ah no it's alright don't worry, Amiruna, but you can call me whatever you want," I nodded as a way of introduction. She nodded aswell
"I believe we have the same homeroom class, do you want to walk together?" I didn't recognize her at all, but her name did sound familiar, so I smiled and agreed.
Maybe things won't be so bad after all.
