The New 51

Shays pov: as i was walking into the firehouse I got greeted by chief walker and he greeted me and told me that we are going to have a morning briefing in 10 minutes. I quickly went to the locker room to go get changed out and put on some deodorant and then walked to the common room to go say hi to everyone and then said hi to my best friend Amanda. The Chief came into the common room to tell everyone to head to the morning briefing so we all filed into the briefing room one by one and I sat down next to Amanda. Chief was talking about normal things in the briefing but then brought up that everyone had to get their CPR recertification except me because I had just gotten mine 2 months ago. I've been at 51 for a month now and I love it here. Since I am the candidate I have to cook for the first few months which isn't too bad because I liked to cook. I was following the footsteps of my dad and went to squad 3. The lieutenant for squad 3 was named Zoe Lopez and she was the first female squad lieutenant in CFD history so I was really excited. Since I was a squad candidate I had to take a 12-week diving course so I knew all the basics of diving. when I got home from 51 I was absolutely exhausted and decided to make a frozen pizza so while it was cooking I got ready for bed
