The next day, I was zoning out while eating cereal. I had been thinking about my encounter with Namil last night. I really talked to someone...outside at that. I honestly wish I had other people to tell.

"Naya!" Jay called while snapping his fingers.

"Wha- huh? What happened?"

Jay shook his head and continued to eat his food. "You really got a problem with zoning out." He'd say. "Sorry...I can't really help it, especially what happened last night. All I can do is think about it."

"You didn't even tell me what happened. Spill it negro."

"There isn't much to talk about. It was basic shit...then I got his number—"

"Nah that's cap." Jay said, cutting me off. "Proof."

I rolled my eyes and took my phone out to show Jay the phone number. Jay raised his eyebrows, surprised. "This can't be real. My nigga, Anaya got somebody's number." He grinned.

I smiled nervously, "Yeah, I guess...I'm scared, what do I do??"

"Call it! Duh." Jay said before pressing the call button.

A sudden rush of fear came over me as the phone rang. I stared at the screen, praying that Namil didn't pick up.

Damn it.

"Hello?"

Jay smiled at me and made a gesture for me to say something back. I was so nervous, but it would be a waste of time if I just sat here not saying anything.

"Um- hey...Namil..right?"

"I'm surprised you said my name right. But yeah, you got it." I had a feeling that he was probably smiling or trying not to laugh at me because I sounded nervous. "Wassup?"

"Nothing, actually. I kinda wanted to make sure the number wasn't fake...or something. Sorry, I'm honestly nervous right now."

"I'll leave y'all alone." Jay whispered. I shook my head quickly, hoping he would stay with me but he just walked up the stairs and into his room.

"It's all good. And I couldn't give a fake number if I wanted to...I'm lying, I'd give anybody some fake shit. But you seem cool, so.."

"You're already making me worry."

"It's nothing to worry about. I put that on my life."

"I'm hoping you not lying. Karma is crazy."

I couldn't believe I was having a conversation with this boy. As calm as I seemed, I was losing it. Mentally, I couldn't keep up. I don't really know why I was freaking out though, it's not like anything bad is happening. Maybe my social skills are really bad.

"God can strike me right now if I'm lying."

"Okay okay, I'll believe you. This nigga tryna die already."
