Chapter I

I : Tainted

Another exhausting day is about to end, I am witnessing how the enormous sun succumbs over the depth of the sea. Ironic but I really love seeing how the day ends and the sun sets because I feel like my problems descends with it. It makes my day even more better. This phenomenon always reminds me how beautiful living is.

Tumingala ako at dinama ang ihip ng pangahapong hangin. Iginala ko ang mga mata sa mga ibong nagliliparan sa payapang himapapawid hanggang sa bumagsak ang paningin sa kamalig hindi kalayuan sa kinauupuan ko.

"Lumabas ka naman, I badly want to see you honey" my idiot heart screams inside my soulful eyes as I watch the empty big stone not far from the hunt. Wala sya.

It's almost a month since we last talked to each other. Almost a month since I experienced my biggest heartbreak. Ipinikit ko ang mga mata ko ng sumagi sa isipan ang nangyare noong gabing iyon.

Kakatapos ko lang kumain at andito na ako sa kwarto ngayon nagce-cellphone nanaman. Naririnig ko pa ang mga sermon ni Mommy sa labas kung sound proof lang sana ang kwarto namin ni Chase walang problema kahit magbombahan pa sila sa labas.

I am scrolling in Facebook when the door opened revealing my stubborn and alien big brother.

"Hoy bumangon ka jan maghugas ka daw ng pinggan sabe ni Mama!"  he literally shouted those words right in my ears.

Matalim akong bumaling sakanya at inirapan sya. "You know I don't do dishes." I said that with pure honesty.

Yes, hindi naman kami ganun kayaman but what can I do Mommy and Daddy spoiled me since ako lang naman yung babae sa aming tatlo. "Tsaka, I'm sure Mommy did not tell you to do so Chester stop messing with me."  he sat on the bed few meters away from mine.

He sighed and uttered few words I don't even understand. "Paano ka mabubuhay dito sa province if kahit paghuhugas ng pinggan hindi mo alam Chie" nakapamaywang na sya ngayon. 

He always calls me Chie which annoys me all the time since people pronounces it as che instead of chai. I know it's a small thing but damn my blood boils everytime they do so.

Well it's not my fault kung bakit hindi pumayag si Dad na dalhin si Aling Loring rito sa province. We are originally from Manila and we're just visiting my Lola Bonita here, Dad's Mom.

I ignored him and continued browsing.
The door opened once again and my cute little demon walked cutely and climbed up to my bed.
"Ate, don't believe Kuya I heard Mama telling him to wash the dishes not you po."

I laughed so hard when my brother fell on the bed out of shock. "Chase! Since when did you betray me!"
Chester screamed with sarcasm but our little bunny hid from my back and started crying.
"Ate, Kuya is bad" I panicked and hushed him before his asthma attacks again.

"Chester, Look what you just did! get the hell out of my room." pinandilatan ko sya ng mata tsaka tinuro ang pintuan. Kaagad naman umalis ang tukmol.

"Stop crying now baby, Kuya is gone na, it's alright" I whispered as I wipe his tears pouring like rain.

He is sleeping soundly on my lap as I brush his hair with my hands. I leaned and kissed his wet checks from all the tears.

I sighed a relief when he calmed down after a minute. If not Mom would be killing Kuya by now.
Nakakabinging katahimikan ang bumalot sa kwarto. 

My phone beeped for a message. I quickly picked it up from the table knowing who sent me a message.

I bit my lips and started composing a reply
