The Festival

THE FESTIVAL (part one)

Sabrina’s POV:
It is now the next day which also means that my date with Ace is later on. I’d be a damn liar if I didn’t say I’m not nervous. I had Yara help me the night before finding a nice kimono to wear but I also can’t help but think about what’s going to happen on this date. Since the first time I’ve seen Ace I couldn’t lie, he’s quite the looker in the eyes but I just assumed the flirting was harmless, but getting to know him more I’ve realized I fell… HARD. He’s so sweet, charming, funny especially when he falls asleep out of nowhere and who could resist that face? I am just now waking up realizing that Yara is already up and out for the morning. As I’m getting my clothes ready and making sure my kimono is ready for later, I hear a knock on my door. Confused I go to open it, seeing nobody there and automatically assuming it’s Pedro or Frank messing with me but before I close the door I see something on the ground. Looking down I can feel the blush rising to my cheeks. It’s a bouquet of sunflowers that just bloomed. I couldn’t resist but smiling and as I grab to pick them, I see a little note sticking out:
“Dear Sabrina,
I know our date isn’t till later but I’ll be busy throughout the day but I saw these and couldn’t help but not get these for you. They are almost as beautiful as you are, key word almost. I can’t wait to see you later today beautiful.
Ace.”
I couldn’t resist the smile that came to my face and the heat to my cheeks. I have never felt this way about anyone but with him, it all seems so effortless. It seems as it just happens naturally. Putting my flowers in water I continue to get ready and can’t help but think about Ace and what’s he’s doing, even though I see him later.

Ace’s POV:
I’m freaking out. It’s only the morning and the date isn’t until later but god damn it I’m so nervous. What if Sabrina doesn’t enjoy herself? What if she changes her mind? OH GOD WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP ON THE DAMN DATE?!?! As I’m having a mini heart attack while the guys and I are setting different things, I see the girl who’s been on my mind with the flowers in her hands talking to Yara. God she’s so perfect and she really seems to love the flowers. Just seeing that smile with those cute cheeks makes me forget any insecurity and realize she is the right one. She isn’t super picky about a lot of things and enjoys sentiments. I can’t believe I fell for her but I’d do it all over again. I just hope Pedro and Frank were right about everything and it all goes smooth.
“ACE ARE YOU GONNA HELP OR CONTINUE TO JUST STARE AT SABRINA UNTIL YOUR DATE?!?!” Pedro says. I start blushing in embarrassment and get ready to rip him a new one, but I hear that cute giggle that has become my new favorite sound and see her blushing. More heat rises to my cheeks as I smile at her in embarrassment. She waves and mouths , “I’ll see you later Ace” with a wink. As her and Yara walk off, I just smile to myself and realize yeah she’s the one.
TIMESKIP

As the day continues, the girls have been doing small training as well as helping sabrina get ready for her date later while Frank and Pedro help Ace set up the roof for a nice dinner date right after.
F: At this point, If you guys don’t get together after all of this work, I’m looking for a different crew.
P: Nah, they definitely will. She’s going to be speechless which will be a shock to us all. Ace how you feeling mate?
A: Fucking nervous. I really like her, hell when you guys rejoined and I saw her for the first time, I actually froze. I mean once she turned to me I winked yeah but she just has this way that I can’t describe and when I talk to her, it’s no judgement and so easy. It reminds me that I’m just Ace not just Gol D Rogers son, she makes me want to be someone better not just for me and my crew, but mainly for her.
Pedro and Frank are shocked. They may have not known Ace for a super long time but hearing the way he speaks about their captain is another thing. There is no lie in his words, only truth.
P: wow, you really do love her don’t you?
A: she’s not even mine and I’m in love with her.
F: YET!
P: Listen, it may seem that my captain and I don’t get along but honestly I want to see her happy. She’s not only my captain but is like family and I wouldn’t want anyone else with her besides you. I just hope you mean what you say and don’t hurt her.
A: I’d rather be in pain then even think of hurting her.
P & F: Simp.
As Ace is pouting, Glen comes out of the kitchen in what seems to be decked out in cookware.
“GUYS WHEN DO I START COOKING ALSO WHAT DOES SABRINA EVEN ENJOY?!?”
“SHUT THE FUCK UP IDIOT!!! SABRINA DOESNT KNOW ABOUT THE DINNER ITS A SURPRISE ! JUST START COOKING AT SUNSET!!”.  Ace screams as he worries she overheard.
G: ooops sorry guys but why am I stuck on cooking duty ??
P: because you said you enjoy and plus frank and I have stuff to do later. Speaking of which, Ace I think it’s time to get you ready it’s already almost 5 and the festival starts early.
A: SHIT OH GOD I HAVE TO HURRY I CANT BE LATE!!!
As Ace runs off, Frank looks over at Pedro and says,” He’s worse than a women but it’s good to see he cares”.
P: Yeah that’s true. Come on let’s help before he falls asleep.

Sabrina’s POV:
As Yara finishes my makeup I can’t help but stare at myself. My baby blue kimono reaches mid-thigh with white flowers all over. My thigh high beige boots match perfectly and my hair is curled while braided.
Y: YOU LOOK STUNNING !!! HES NOT GONNA KNOW WHAT HIT HIM!
S: Really?? You think so ?? GOD I’m so nervous!! What if he changed his mind ?
Before Sabrina continues to rambler her insecurities, there’s a knock at the door.
S&Y: *whispering*ITS HIM!
Yara goes to answer the door to see Ace in somewhat of his usual attire but traded shorts for some nice pants and an open dress shirt but with that signature cowboy hat on.
Y: Ace you look great ! Sabrina should be coming now !
Ace tips his hat to Yara in thanks and just waits with a single flower to give to her. Sabrina closes her eyes and takes deep breaths before giving herself a once over and going to the door. One she opens it, her eyes widen. If she thought he was handsome before, she has no words for how he looks now. They both stare at each other wide eyed with blush covering their cheeks. As she looks up at him, he takes her hand to his lips giving it a chaste kiss.
A: I- I have no words to even describe how beautiful you look.
Y (in the background): AWEE
Sabrina and Ace both look at her and she awkwardly excuses herself but not before giving Sabrina a good luck hug and threatening Ace once more:
S: Thanks Ace you look so handsome, although I am a little surprised you have a shirt on.
Ace chuckles at her words and brings her closer as they intertwine hands. “We’ll I had to look my best if I wanted to be your man for the evening”. She feels like nothing could ruin this moment and can only imagine how the actual date is going to be.
A: You ready to head out beautiful ? There’s a whole festival waiting for us.
She looks up at the freckled cutie and gives him a nod of her head.
S: Yeah let’s go.
