Spirit scouted the area where he had been keeping his mother who was grazing on a fresh patch of grass.
He had his black coat shinning and his eyes wondered to his mother as he pranced over, his elegance growing greatly.
FeFe, Spirit's mother, lifted her head quickly to greet her son while her eyes showed she was in pain, causing her to back up, "Spirit. I need to tell you something."
Spirit flicked his ears and paid full attention to his mother, nodding when he was ready.
"Although I am still young AND I'm your mother, doesn't mean I'll be here forever," FeFe spilled, "I am growing ill and I think it's time for me to leave to a better place soon."
Spirit flattened his ears right to his skull and snorted, "You know I don't like talking about this, mother."
"You needed to know," she snorted back with flat ears, "My time is coming from this illness and I just want you to be prepared."
Spirit's electric blue eyes flashed as he backed away, his mind wrapping around what his mother had told him- he knew she was sick but he didn't know that this illness could kill her.
FeFe slowly walked over, nuzzling her son's withers reassuringly as she huffed in his scent, "I love you and I always will but my time has come..."
Spirit looked at her before moving from her touch, his ears flat as he snorted, "I don't need you to baby me."

A few hours pass before Spirit saw his mate trotting through the trees and towards him- she was also pretty ill wi the same illness that his mother has.
"Zelda," Spirit ringed as he trotted to greet her lovingly.
"Spirit," Zelda answered before nudging her mate's head so he could see his mother...
FeFe was breathing quickly as she laid down, her breaths shallow and raspy as Spirit and Zelda trotted to her aid.
"Spirit," she panted, "This is my time and this is also yours. Make the best of it..."
Before spirit could answer he heard many paws thundering towards them............. Wolves.
There was no way Spirit could defend both his mate and his mother so he nudged Zelda towards the mountains as he said one last goodbye to his mother, galloping off after Zelda but turned once he reached the trees and he stood tall.
FeFe was.... Smiling as the wolves took her life in the blink of an eye, causing the large stallion to tear up as he galloped after Zelda, the image on repeat in his head.•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•
