"Brringgg"
My eyes flutter open to the sound of the alarm clock ringing on the wooden nightstand. The room is usually dark and quiet, the only sound that enters here is the faint chirping of birds. It is a place out of time, a place to rest without consequences. The furniture in the room is old and threadbare and is lit by a candle filled lamp.
Drawing off the curtains, I looked at the outside world, streets lined with deserted brick houses and broken street lamps, an abandoned mill with a tall chimney. A deep yawn escaped through my lips as a flicker of sunrays cast between the dark clouds.
A burning scent of pancakes arises from the lonely downstairs and engulf me. 'Not again' was the first thought that invad my mind. Changing into new clothes and brushing my teeth, I ran downstairs to find the ugly looking elf behind the kitchen island serving almost burnt pancakes.
"Come on you freaking twat. Not again" I sighed heavily.
"You know today I'm leaving for Hogwarts. Atleast let me have a good meal for once." thudding the chair towards the island, I sat hopelessly.
The piquant smell almost made me vomit nevertheless I'm smell things far more bad than this.
"Do you know where dad is?" I asked with a hoarse voice. Cobby is a small house elf with big blue eyes and long ears . Though he is very loyal to dad, he is obnoxious and stinks like a rotten tomato. Just a week ago, I gifted him an old t-shirt of mine which is now torn at many places.
"Madam, your father has work and told Cobby to inform you that Mrs. Malfoy will arrive soon." his short squeaky voice echoed throughout the area.
After having breakfast, Cobby helped me to bring the heavy luggages downstairs. By the all the luggages were in front of the fireplace, a knock startled us. The small creature rushed to the door. Little did he know his hands are as tiny as a mouse so I kicked the plonker to the side and turned the brass metal knob.
Outside the gate was the glorious and beautiful Narcissa along with her idiotic twitchy little ferret. "Good morning darling" her charismatic demeanor always attracts me. A sweet smile formed on my lips as I welcomed them.
"Are we ready?" Narcissa asked and threw a pinch of the powder into the fire, instantly the flames turned green as I called out Kings Cross. Soon after both the Malfoys stood next to me.
After saying a final good bye to my mother like figure we departed to for the train.
As we stepped inside the bright red Hogwarts express the chitter chattering of students started. Our compartment is at the last corner of the train.
"Hi guys" Pansy's gruffy voice called out from the compartment. Beside her was Blaise. The irritating duo of Hogwarts. I gave them a simple nod and entered in the cabin. "So how was your holidays?" yeah it was amazing living a ghosted house with only a filthy git and my non-speaking father.
"Good" was the only response they got.
"Anything from the trolley dear." the friendly trolley witch came with lots of confectionery goods. "Can I have Chocolate frogs?" the sweet chocolates are the only one I like from this food trolley. After handing her some coins she motioned forward and I became gulping up the whole all at once.
"What?" their dirty gaze were piercing through mine as they made thier weird looks as if I'm eating dirt and mud. "Nothing" Blaise said as they return back to thier talking.
I really don't like them.
After the long train ride the tall fat gaint obviously Hagrid helped us to board down the train. Hagrid is a good man and he's my friend. But we all know his favourite is the popular HARRY POTTER.
Thousands and thousands of candle were floating in the air and the large table was against decoration with golden plates and goblets. Each of us took us particular seats in our respective houses. At the top was special seats for the teachers. My eyes landed on my father, Severus Snape.
I raised my eyebrows to know why he left so early but an intense gaze was the only response as he turned towards the headmaster.
The tall and thin old man with long silver beard and a crocked nose stood up from his throne like chair and started his as usual boring speech. "Welcome to a new year at Hogwarts. Before we begin our banquet, I would like to say a few words. This year a new student is join us and I'll like you to welcome him wholeheartedly. Here comes Mattheo Riddle."
Just as all of us heard the name Riddle a loud gasp escaped our lips. The same gossip started. Fear.
"Silence....." Dumbledore shouted and the chirping of the students stopped. A tall masculine figure came into view the entrance door. Taking steady steps with head held high he approached in front of Prof. McGonall.
He's fine with about 5'10 foot, beautiful chestnut brown eyes, soft brown hair which is neatly settled at the back but few tendrils loosing at the front, a tough and strong body which only radiates power, rich and strength. A deep scar crossing the side of his forehead down his eyebrows till it reached the far corner of his left eye.
As soon as the sorting hat was put over his head it shouted 'SLYTHERIN' . A around of applause headed from the Slytherin table just because of fear. But I being the extra extraordinary just glared at the boy.
'Clap. Your. Hands.' my eyes flipped to the corner 'No. Way.' is all I said.
After the completion of the sorting ceremony, we all headed to our respective classes. While I was passing by the huge crowd a shadow emerged from the corner and grabbed my hand towards his office.
"What are you doing dad?" I pulled my hands from his grip. Literally why all of a sudden did he changed like that boy means so much to him.
"Did I not tell you to clap your hands?" he hissed as venom laced his every word.
"You did but why?" I stomped my foot angrily on the ground.
"You'll not mess with him is that clear?" without arguing much I simply nodded and left his office.
