When vic was finally in the ground was the first time I ever really felt truelly alone. But here I was 3 months later the last of three Clare siblings waiting in the corner of the class waiting for it to end. It was half way through junior year now and after school is over next year there will be nothing keeping me here.
I had planned on moving with dad after Vic died but just couldn't leave mom not in the way that Alice and Vic did.
The bell finally rang and Sam came over to me as we walked out of class.
"Hey-"
"Hi Sam, you haven't talked to me in months is there some thing you need." I said with a little bitterness that was completely intentional.
"Wow Micky the rumors are true, you have become a full on ass" there was a pause where I just glared and continued walking.
"Won't ask again what do you want."
"Fine. No friendly conversation than... You still have Vic's stuff right?"
"Yeah why?"
"Angel needs something so I was wondering if we could come over and look through his stuff" Angel was Vic's girlfriend he adored her and would yell at me if I said no like I desperately wanted to. So did the only reasonable thing. Said yes.I was thanked and told to wait out front after school for them and Sam left rather fast. Probably to tell Angel the plan.
...
I was out front of the high school that had some how mangered to have a forest to the left and back of it. To be honest that was pretty common for where we lived, just random forests everywhere. Along with forests this area was also famous for rain. And that is exactly what it was planning on doing this evening it looked like, by how dark the sky was.
It took a fue minutes for the two to come outside and make it to the front. Angel came like she always did when she saw me (happily) and hugged me I just stood there waiting for her to let go. She pulled away still holding my shoulders with her thin hands.
"How have you been?"
"Gray", it wasn't a lie I didn't feel much of anything anymore but that still made her smile. It was a sad but understanding one but it felt nothing close to fake like the others I've been getting.
"By the way, thanks for letting me come over with Sam to look for some thing, I really appreciate it."
"I only said yes so Vic won't turn in his grave and start haunting me because you asked for something and I said no." That made Sam and Angel snicker because deep down the three of us knew he would. We where in my car now driving home because I was the only one with a car. To be honest the only reason i had a car was because it was Alice's, then Vic's, now mine since their both gone now. I was driving being the only one knowing the exact directions through the woods to my mom's house even though they have both been there multiple times.
Angel was next to me and Sam was keeping the bags company in the back but she didn't mind. Angel had always sat in the front as far back as I can remember knowing her. She was a senior now and met Vic in 7th grade, then they started dating sophomore year. She was thin and tan. Her hair light brown but still almost blonde that went down to the middle of her back. She never really wore very feminine things but she almost always wore either a skirt or a crop top. But I noticed never together. But the most noticeable thing about her was her hazel eyes, they matched her perfectly not blue, not green, not brown, and when you thought they picked a color they would change. Out of spite I think. It was weird to say the least and just annoying at best.
Sam was in the back now on her phone when she looked up. We just had to lock eyes for a moment and all I got was a small smile before she looked down again. Sam had short brown hair with dark brown eyes. She was tall and had no idea how giant she was which made me angry because she was taller than me. She was pretty close to 6 foot which was even worst. She has mid toned skin on the verge of being pale but never there. Compared to me and angel she was more masculine with the way she dressed she worn baggy sweaters and combat boots usually. Personally I really liked converse over combat boots, but oh well. Me and Sam used to be really close, like friends since 7 years of age close, but after Alice died it went all down hill. When Vic died I shut down and we fought so we just aren't as close which right now is probably for the best.
We got to the house and got out of the car. The first thing I noticed was that moms car was missing but that was getting more and more common with her taking more shifts to distract herself.
We got inside and I saw a note on the counter from mom telling me what I was suspecting, she is working late but, will be home around 10pm... again. I was pulled out of my thoughts and didnt realised I was glaring at note until I heard Sam say
"Wow, I haven't seen the house this clean in forever. Let alone been in the house in forever."
That made me freeze. Of course its clean, instead it being a home for 5, it only held 2.
"Yeah wierd" was all I could say not wanting to be overly mean.
"Okay I am going to be in my room if you need me, you can just go to his room mom won't let me pack it up yet. Just come and get me when you find it and I can drive you home." I went to my room, put on headphones, and started the new math homework. About 30- 45 minutes later they came in and tapped me on the shoulder it startled me and I flinched with a squeak. I turn around they looked shocked but that slowly faded when they saw I was fine. I took the head phone off and head for the front door they already had there shoes on so I took it as a sign they where ready
