yoongi sighed, taking his merry time to get to his locker before heading to his first class. he walked alone in the white corridors, his eyes trailing from people to the floor, to the walls and to his hands. he had chemistry first, and the idea of ever hurrying to get to chemistry made him shiver. it wasn't that yoongi hated the subject, he just absolutely would rather dry up like a raison than go to chemistry.

turning the corner, yoongi glanced up at the faces of the students that passed him. his locker was at the end of this corridor, giving him the perfect excuse to be a couple minutes late as he would have have go back the way he came in order to even get there. even though it was only a couple minutes less of chemistry, yoongi still enjoyed missing those couple of minutes. it was a strange class for yoongi, as his teacher was the nicest of people but her subject just sucked ass.

all his life, yoongi had been a very shy and reserved person with not many friends, and so when he opened his locker to find a book he'd never seen about space, and a note stuck to it, he was more than confused.

yoongi furrowed his eyebrows at the hand writing, and then at the pet name he had been called. space baby. was it that extreme how obsessed he was with space? was he trying to insult him? but if he was, why would he buy him a book out of his money, for no good reason?

yoongi took the book in his hands, deciding to take it to class along with his chemistry books. it served as a good distraction to chemistry; staring at the book and wondering who in the world would get him something like that, call him something like that. it made him blush a little.

as yoongi sat down in his usual seat after a brief explanation of why he was late, hoseok immediately turned to face him. he tapped yoongi on the shoulder over and over as if it were the most urgent thing ever. yoongi turned his head to face him with a tired expression.

"what's that?" hoseok whispered with intrigue in his voice.

"a book"

"yeah, but like, why? from who?" he asked with a slight eye roll, giving yoongi a smile as if he were ridiculous.

"I don't know who it's from.. but it looks interesting" yoongi said, looking away as he hoped the blush on his cheeks wouldn't show. he could feel hoseok looking in his direction, either at him or down at the book.

"space baby?" quoted hoseok in an amused tone as he stared up at his best friend, who refused to look at him.

"someone's got the hots for yoongiiii, someone's got the hots for youuuu!" chanted hoseok, poking yoongi on the arm.

"shut up! I don't know who it is and you're embarrassing" yoongi desperately spat, trying to get him to stop as he swatted hoseok's hand away from him. hoseok's chanting was replaced with his giggling. yoongi rolled his eyes and began taking notes, deciding chemistry was more interesting than this.

yoongi had been sat in the library for about five minutes now, with his lunch to his right and all his work to his left. he would occasionally eat a spoonful of his refreshing salad as he typed up an essay for his psychology class. it was ome of his his favourite classes, as he really enjoyed learning about the human brain. most would have thought physics was his favourite due to his obsession with space, or art due to his obsession with but yoongi found every other part of physics a bit lackluster, and so it was his second favourite instead. and as for art, he found he didn't have as much freedom as he'd have liked, so he wasn't 100% fond of the class.

knowing he would never finish his food if he didn't properly eat it, yoongi picked up his home made salad and began eating away at it. he focused his gaze on his essay, skim reading it for any minor errors. as he did, he saw a broad figure in front of him. assuming he was gonna walk past, he didn't look up, but he stood there in front of yoongi.

yoongi gazed up at whoever it was, and immediately became a little shy.

"hi, mind if I sit here?" he had asked so casually yet so politely. yoongi kept his eyes on the boy as he stabbed more of his salad and scooped it into his mouth. yoongi nodded, and he watched him as he unpacked his lunch, laptop and english books onto the table.

"I'm jungkook, you are?" asked the boy, smiling softly. he could tell yoongi wasn't the talking type, but that wouldn't stop him from wanting to speak to him.

continuing to hold his salad in one hand and the fork in the other, yoongi swallowed before he replied.

"yoongi" he said, casting his gaze down. he felt shy in the handsome man's presence, which felt odd as he usually wasn't bothered by people staring at him or even just being around him.

"yoongi.. cute name" repeated jungkook as if trying out how his name sounded on his tongue. yoongi's eyes shot up to look at jungkook, who smiled innocently as if he hadn't just flirted with him.

yoongi didn't reply; instead, he put his salad down and started working on his essay again. he could see jungkook sat opposite him from over his laptop, but he resisted the urge to look at him to inspect his face. he continued his work.

to yoongi's pleasure, jungkook had begun on his own work too, presumably also an essay considering he had his english books out.

"you're a physics student?" questioned jungkook in a neutral tone, his eyes trained on the space book that sat beside his psychology ones.

"I am, but that book isn't for physics" yoongi told, cringing at how stupid his words came out.

jungkook slowly nodded once. "your boyfriend get it for you?" jungkook asked again, after reading the note stuck to the book.

yoongi's cheeks went up in flames as he shook his head. "n-no, I don't have one. I don't know who got it" yoongi admitted awkwardly.

yoongi was concerned both because jungkook seemed to know he was gay, because he was very handsome, and because his cheeks were bright red and there was no way he could hide it.

jungkook furrowed his eyebrows at him. "you don't?"

yoongi shook his head, taking their conversation as a chance to inspect his face more. his eyes were soft and doe, with his sharp jawline and strong brown eye brows juxtaposing them. his lips were thin and seemed to be coated with some sort of a lip balm. his nose was soft and somewhat big on his face. he was very well kept and certainly adorable.

"I think it's my best friend messing with me though, he likes a bit of action and drama in his life" yoongi admitted, earning a genhine hearty chuckle from jungkook. yoongi felt his cheeks heat up again, and he cast his gaze down at his work.

"easily could be" jungkook replied, a smile still on his face. "I really need to type up this essay though" he later added. silently, yoongi nodded and got back to eating his salad while he occasionally glanced at jungkook going his essay.

only a few moments of silence passed before jungkook spoke up again.

"sorry but I have to ask, what's in that salad? it looks great" he laughed, this time a little awkwardly.

yoongi giggled at the way jungkook told him he needed to write his essay, but immediately got back to talking to him.

"pasta, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, sweet corn, prawns and the sauce is.. I don't actually know but my mum makes it" he smiled, watching jungkook's entertained reaction. this time he didn't reply and just got back to work instead.

yoongi felt sligtly warm inside.
