A/N: Just reminding everyone reading this that this is a prequel to my other story "The Ferry Home". Serena and Lisia's age in this one-shot is 14-15, and that Dawn is mentioned.

[Slateport City, Hoenn Region - 1 year ago]
Located in the southern coast of the Hoenn region there is Slateport City, known to many as a place where people from many regions gather and mingle in its busy port, its Oceanic Museum, stunning scenery of the ocean from its beaches, and where new trainers from here can get their starter pokemon from the Pokemon Center.
But enough exposition on the city this story is taking place in. Now onto what you the readers have came for.
The scene now shifts to a familiar honey-blonde trainer wearing a red-colored fedora and waistcoat over a bright pink dress, black stocking, dark brown boots and a blue ribbon on her chest. That person was Serena and she's currently walking down the streets of Slateport, following the directions on the map of her navigator, while holding a note in her right hand.
"Meet me at this cafe, i want to talk to you about something"
-Lisia
And below that had the name of the cafe where the two would meet.
'What did Lisia want to talk to me about?', Serena thought to herself as she walked down the street, thinking of what Lisia wanted to talk to her about.
Serena had met Lisia by the time she earned her second contest ribbon, Lisia approached her after the contest was finished and wanted to comment on her style of performing during the Performance Stage, and after asking her a couple of questions and talking for a bit and Serena explaining to her she came from Kalos to improve her skills as a performer. After the two talked for a bit and bonded over similar interests, they've become good friends ever since.
Serena continued to walk for a few more minutes until she arrived at the cafe.
"Well this is the place", she scanned the patrons sitting outside to look for Lisia if she was waiting for her outside or inside the cafe, and before she could look any further, a familiar voice was heard.
"Serena, over here!", her gaze was quickly met with a familiar teal-haired coordinator, waving to her from afar, sitting at a table that had a good view of the ocean. Seeing her, Serena made her way to the famous coordinator.
Lisia who was known to be an extrovert and sported her trademark contest outfit both on stage and out in public, was currently wearing a blue jersey jacket with white stripes and the sleeves rolled up to her elbows and wearing a white t-shirt underneath, white shorts and a pair of white and navy blue sneakers, along with a white cap that helped hide half of her face.
Lisia dressing like this would only mean 2 thing; First, she could be laying low for a bit to get away from her fans, but that explanation seemed impossible for someone with her extroverted nature and is used to the attention. The second explanation being, she just wants to hang out with a friend in peace, and likely talk about gossip on other coordinators.
"Hope you didn't have a hard time getting here, this part of Slateport tends to get busy at this hour", Lisia says to Serena as she sits down on the seat opposite to her.
"It's alright, i didn't really get lost on the way here", Serena explained. "So what did you want to talk to me about?".
"Well for one, i just wanted to say congratulations on earning your fourth ribbon!", Lisia congratulated her while passing her a drink she ordered for the two of them in advance.
