Ronnie's pov

Playing at the abandon playground with Emily was great. We would always meet by the swings after school everyday. She was 3 years younger than me. I was 9 she was 6. Age didn't really matter to us. We were best friends. Before i met her, I would swing on the swings alone everyday. One day I see a girl swinging on the swings. She was beautiful. With the wind blowing through her long brown hair, the sun shining through the trees, reflecting her beauty. I fell in love first sight. I didn't really understand it but I accepted it. I pent up the courage to go talk to her. Since then we decided to meet here everyday. One day I noticed that she was late. She was always here before me. I decided to sit on the swings for bit, hoping that she'll be here soon. But as time went by I started to worry. Something was definitely wrong. It felt like hours waiting. I sighed heavily and decided to head home. I jumped off the swing and started to walk away pouting. I heard footsteps behind me. I turn around and see Emily standing and panting rapidly. She looked distressed.
"Emily!?" She looked up at me. I ran towards her and hugged her tightly. I let go and stared intimidating at her. Her eyes were puffy and red with tears streaming down them. "What happened?" I say softly. She looked down depressedly. I pick her chin up and stared into her bright blue eyes.
"I-I" she studders for a moment. "I was picked up from school today by my father." I nod. "And he told me that-" more tears were streaming down her pale skin. I hugged her tightly.
"It's ok." I say in a reassuring voice. She sniffles.
"My dad said that were moving away." I looked at her shocked.
"W-where are you moving too?" I say nervously. "We're moving to New York for my dad's work."
I look down. "Oh..." She's moving across the country. I didn't know how to respond so I said nothing. I just hugged her. I never wanted to let go.
"When are you leaving?" I ask sadly
"In a week." She sniffles. "Well lets make that count!" I yell happily. She smiles excitingly and hugs me tightly. I hug her back never wanting to let go. That day we planned out everything. But that was to much to ask for. She never came back to the playground. That day was the last time I got to see her.
"I treasure that moment." I say sadly.
"Awww" all the girls around me say sympathetically. "Awww you poor thing." One of the girls say.
"So she really left you without saying goodbye?" Another girl says.
I nod "really." They awe again. "But it's alright. I will always remember that beautiful brown haired girl. I just... *fake cry* really wish I could see that face once more." I sniffle.
"Awwww" all the girls surround me and hug me. "Here, take my number. Call me whenever you need comfort." Girl one says. "Take mine too."
"And mine!" I smile softly "ladies I really appreciate this. Thank you." I say giving them a heartwarming smile. They giggle
"don't worry about it just call us when you need reassurance." I nod. They walk away waving. I wave back until they were out of sight.
"Dude that story works every time!"
I chuckle "nothing like a sad sob story."
My friend Kyle nods. "Which one are you gonna call first?" He asks looking at the numbers.
"The brunette. She was cute." I smirk.
"Oooo can I have the blonde?" I handed him the other two numbers.
"Knock yourself out."
He smiles, "Awesome!".
He pats my stomach
"Dude look. There's two hot brunettes over there. We should go talk to them. Or you should, with that story of yours." I shake my head "Im good you can have them. I want to go home and sleep. Maybe get some subway on my way."
He pouts, "But dude they're hot!"
I shrug and turn around, "Have fun" I wave bye to him and leave the mall. I turn quickly to see him getting slapped. I chuckle and walk away. I look up and notice it's getting dark. "I guess I have to get a subway real quick." I walk to the nearest subway shop and order a vegetarian sandwich. I quickly grab it and start walking home. I wonder whatever happened to her. I really do miss her. Heh what if she's thinking about me right now. I shrug. Doubt it. I was so in thought I never noticed what was ahead. I look up and smash into someone. "Ouch" I say, falling back and drop my dinner. I look up and see a young girl.
"Are you alright?" I say picking up my subway. She nods and looks up. My eyes go wide. Those bright blue eyes! That long brown hair! That beautiful pale skin. "Emily?"
She looks at me. "Do I know you?"
