Despite promising to meet up for lunch, you didn't see Monty the rest of the day. That's not to say you didn't try to find him. But for a thousand pound brightly colored animatronic, he was surprisingly good at hiding from everyone. Neither Chica or Roxy had heard from him and you boss was quick to send you home after the sun began to set. Since you haven't received your first paycheck you spent the evening eating old left overs, writing the bands second song, and pirating a new show off a sketchy website. But that's in the past, because now you're heading back into work with a nearly complete song to show off. You can only hope the animatronics will like music inspired by Styx and Electric Light Orchestra.
The air in the facility hangs heavy from the events of yesterday, but the staff bots are working as normal so maybe you're the only one who notices. You pull your folder of sheet music to your chest and take a deep breath, you can do this. You just have to locate the band and drill the songs and choreography. You head towards your office, hoping to encounter some of the animatronics along the way. Unfortunately, finding them doesn't turn out to be so easy. You figure they're probably still charging, so you should let them rest awhile longer. You can find tune the sheet music in the meantime.
Your office still looks nice, but you feel a pang of guilt as you pass the tapestry on the wall. You push it back, looking at the large dent then let the decoration drop over it again, "It doesn't make sense. It's not right," you mutter, furrowing your brow before grabbing a fistful of the fabric to pull it from the wall.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!" A cheerful voice calls from the door behind you and you turn to see Chica. Well, that's one less animatronic to look for.
"Sorry, I'm not sure why I did that," You admit, cringing at your outburst. Something just felt wrong about covering it up after you found out what happened.
"We all act up sometimes, that's nothing to be ashamed of!" Chica tells you and walks into the office.
"It's nice to hear that," you kick the tapestry aside and take a seat at the piano bench. Chica watches closely as you place the sheet music on the stand, "I finished the second song, and I even included a guitar solo!"
"You should have told me, I would have warmed up to play!" Chica jumps in excitement, shaking the room and sending your music to the ground. She's quick to pick them up and hand them back to you.
"We can practice it as a band as soon as we find everyone," You promise and start playing a random bit of the song.
"I like it already y/n, let me go find the others!" She cheers after hearing only a few measures, then runs out of the room.
You begin transposing the music once the heavy footsteps have faded away. The process comes naturally to you after practicing so many times. It has an almost calming effect which is exactly what you need right now. You can still remember what your parents told you as a child, "Compose yourself. You can be upset later," it's always stuck with you. Now isn't the time to be emotional. Now it's time to work. Your boss is counting on you, and you don't want to let him down after seeing how he acted yesterday. He was like a different person.
You finish the guitars part and grab the nearby acoustic to play through the solo. It has a warmer more natural tone than the electric will, but the tune is just as enjoyable. Next you shift to the keytar portion, taking a moment to pat yourself on the back for how smooth of a transition it is. It's some of your finer work if you do say so yourself. You can already imagine how it'll sound all together with the band. Your heart swells with pride and excitement. You can hardly wait for the world to hear your compositions, even if they're only being preformed at a pizza restaurant.
A knock at the door interrupts your daydreaming and you look over as Chica returns with Roxy. At least this morning Roxy doesn't look quite as tired. You wonder if there's a robot equivalent of coffee, and if it would work on humans, "I just finished your sheet music, want to have a look over it?" you pass the music to Roxy.
