Fear had paralyzed my soul and left me to suffocate in the silent stillness of time. Forever seemed short-lived as promises to myself were broken. I stood in tranquility amongst the storm until the grass wove itself in rhythm to my skin, wrapping around my limbs in a delicate embrace. My hands and feet were roots growing further into the soft dirt, reaching for solace and stability. A seed was planted deep in my heart and through my lips the tree of life began to grow. Memories that I once held close were sprouting as individual leaves, and within each fragment, one began to fall and erase itself from existence.

A beacon of light cascaded the twilights sanctuary, its sudden presence strengthening the breeze. The last remnant of green foliage clasped desperately to the branch, eyes open to its merciless detachment. I held on to the reminiscence of my future until the vision was ripped away, and the tree wilted to dust- burying me beneath its heavy harbor.

Your name repeated itself off the caves in my mind. It gained momentum in occurrence and strength in amplification, capturing me within its trance. Despite the uncertain circumstances I wasn't calling for a savior. It was a cry of desperation, a warning for the fall of humanity. In the midst of my desolate memories I held onto the untold identity of you.

I didn't know who you were, but I knew your name. I didn't know what you looked like, but I recognized your face the moment I saw you. An unbroken soul with a fractured heart, torn by the expectations of yourself. You weren't meant for the life you hadn't chose and so you would bring it all to ruin.

In this pain an era of suffering would befall the sinners, and it was I who would pay the price. With such perception, I found conviction for the guilty conscious of my unrighteousness. The division between sin and virtue blurred from my sorrow. There was a longing for forgiveness of an evil that could not be dismissed. An inevitable fate that tied the ends of the earth into downfall began when your name echoed for the last time.

Esperance, my beloved conveyer of catastrophe.

Esperance, you knew all along.

Without words, you voiced a premonition that I would bring salvation to the collapse of it all.
