Chapter 3

The next morning Desire woke up super excited; she had a new car, her first 30 inch weave with a frontal, she was graduating the next day and she was going to the graduation party. Desire got ready for school with a smile on her face the whole time. By the time she got dropped off to school her mouth was hurting from smiling too much. When Desire got out of the car Mercedes was standing by the curb.  

" bestfriendddddd!" Alena shouted as she walked up to Desire before Mercedes did.

" Hey!" Desire hugged Alena

Mercedes walked up to them interrupting their hug

" So are you getting lit with me or what?" Mercedes asked referring to the party

" I guess I'll pop out, I have to ask Lamont if he would drop us off"" Desire responded

" your brother is so bomb" Mercedes blurted out biting her lip

" thirsty" Alena cringed, turning up her nose.

" girl you know he bomb, 6 Feet Tall, Brown skin, muscles and them waves"Mercedes expressed

"Okay that's enough, I'll see y'all later!"Desire shouted

When they got home Lamont had one more surprise for Desire, it was the dress that she saw on instagram, Desire was so excited she started running around the house.

" I could not ask for a better big brother" Desire smiled

Desire pulled out her phone and started making a instagram story

" none of yall brother is fucking with mines! New car and a bomb dress! Period !'' Desire announced, she had a big kool aid smile, she was ready to put the dress on, she loved fashion, it didn't even have to be designer, if it looked good she was forsure going to wear it, her and Lamont.

''You deserve it sis, I didn't make it past 10th grade" Lamont laughed

Desire gave Lamont a hug " awww " Desire smirked

" foreal, you been working hard! im proud of you! Stay focused on your goals and dreams anything else can wait!" Lamont instructed

He wanted the best for his little sister and he was going to make sure that she got just that, Desire always been innocent, grateful and hard working, it was only right that he spoiled her.

" Thank you brother, you know ive always wanted to go to college but now that im older I don't know what I want to be,  I still want to go to college but its like whats next? Desire stated

" You will figure it out, but knowledge is very important when it comes to these streets and in them books!" Lamont replied

Desire set in deep thought as she listened to her brother talk, she was amazed at how much he accomplished and how smart he was without even finishing high school. Lamont had been in the streets hustling since he was fourteen, when their parents died it changed Lamont's whole outlook on life. Lamont and Desires parents abused drugs throughout Lamont's whole 14 years of living, They were inside a local crack spot in Compton when the house burned down, Lamont and Desire had to move with their Auntie Pam. Lamont was touching racks by fifteen.Pam died when Lamont was 19 so he had no choice but to raise thirteen year old Desire.

Desire woke up the next morning super excited, she instantly turned her speaker on and turned up while she got ready for her graduation. Once she was ready, her and Lamont took a couple of pictures. Hours later she was walking across the stage, when Desire got her Diploma she felt accomplished, all her hard work finally paid off and in a few months she would be a college student.

When the graduation was over Desire hugged Alena and Mercedes

" oh my god, we finally did it" Desire yelled, she couldn't wait to get out of high school and move on to the next chapter of her life.
