After 20 more minutes of driving, Vincente finally stops the car and parks. I look around and notice we're at a clothing store? I know I dressed casually, but I didn't think he would care.
"What are we doing here?"
C- "Getting you something nice to wear. The restaurant we're going to is very fancy."
"Oh." I get out of the car and we walk to the door. He opens it for me and greets the women working there. He talks to them in French and they take me to a fitting room. They give me a bunch of dresses to try on. They put the first one on me and show it to Vincente. I guess he didn't like the first few dresses because he sent me back 4 times. For the 5th dress, it was a silk dress, it was the same blue as his coat.
"Vincente, what am I doing?"
"Trying on something nice. I think that dress suits you the best. Let's go buy it." He asked the lady how much it was and brought it to the counter to buy it. He swiped his card and we left.
"How much was it? I'll pay you back."
"No, anyway, the new agent is arriving tomorrow. Her name is Fade. What's your next move?"
"Let's just meet her first, we'll see how she is and then we'll decide. How much was the dress?"
"Not a lot. Ready to go to the restaurant?"
"I guess so. Am I supposed to wear this?"
"If you'd like, I think you look great in it."
"Okay." I start to unbutton my shirt so I can put on the dress.
"What..are you doing?"
"Changing." I continue to unbutton me shirt, I can see Chamber looking away. I slip on the dress and fix my hair.
"I'm ready."
"You look great. Let's head inside, shall we?"
"Sure." We both exit the car and he opens the door for me. The restaurant looks really fancy and expensive, something that just screams Vincente. We sit down at our table and he looks at the menu while I look at him. I close my eyes for a minute just to feel light tapping on my shoulder.
"Tired already?"
"..no.."
"Have you decided what you're going to order?"
"No.. you can pick for me."
"Alright."
"Do you think, if you propose to me, we'll get free cake?"
"No, and no."
"What are we doing after this?"
"What would you like to do?"
"You, maybe, but if not we can go somewhere else instead."
"Okay. I'm looking forward to it." A few minutes later, the waiter arrives and takes our orders. The food comes out 10 minutes later and we eat.
"Let's get drinks, I'll pay."
"No, Zara. You obviously can't handle your alcohol well, and it's too early for drinks, it's 5 PM."
"It's never too early for drinks." We finish our food and then we leave, without the drinks. The air is starting to get a little chillier. I left my jacket in the car so all I can do is fold my arms hoping for warmth. I guess Vincente noticed and puts his jacket on me. He puts his other arm around me and we keep walking.
"Vicente.."
"Yes?"
"You know a lot about my past, how come I don't know a lot about yours?"
"Because you've never asked. Are you asking right now?"
"I guess so."
"Well, as you know, I'm French. I've worked for Kingdom and designed weapons, blah blah. There isn't much to ask about. As for relationships, I've never really been in one. I've only hooked up with a few women at the bar." I rolled my eyes and kept silent. I started to hold his hand much tighter. Is it toxic to not want anybody else to have him? We get back to the car. I start to undress so when we get home, nobody will question it. I look at Chamber, who's looking at his phone, I kind of wish he was paying more attention to me..but at least he's not a pervert. Once I manage to take off the dress, I have an idea. Maybe I'll thank him by hugging him? ( 😭) I lean over and kiss him.
"Today was really fun, thank youu."
[Chamber/Vincente]
I was reading the message Brimstone sent out, when all of a sudden, Zara hugs me and thanks me? I cant tell if there's something wrong or she just wants attention. I can feel her chest on me and I hug her back.
"Brimstone sent out a message.."
Z: "About what?"
"All of the other agents have been seeing and feeling weird things, almost like ghosts. Cypher and Raze are freaking out, I guess that's why we haven't seen them around. It all started happening before Brimstone sent the team to go get her. He knows something we don't. She's going to be revealed tomorrow."
Z: "Does that mean you've been feeling weird too? Like ghosts and stuff kind of weird ?"
"Honestly, kind of. I just tried to take my mind off of it. What about you?"
Z: "No."
"Haha, maybe the new agent already likes you. I guess we'll find out later."
Z: "Do you still feel weird or freaked out?"
"Sometimes. It doesn't bother me a lot, though.
Z: "I wish you told me sooner. I don't know if I can help at all." Zara leaned in and gave me a hug.
"It's fine." She got up and put on her clothes. I start the car and we leave.
