Kept you waiting, huh?
...
Okay, that was in bad taste. I'm really sorry that this almost took another year YET AGAIN! I just had so much going on, but I don't want to keep you guys too long from reading the chapter. So, I'll just leave you a list of my valid reasons for not writing.
1: Too many fun ideas to write about and getting distracted writing those.
2: Major workplace changes.
3: General procrastination
4: Was playing Video games. Also Eldin Ring exists(Nuff said).
5: Loss of muse for quite a while
Okay, I think that's enough. Now please enjoy!
Crossing the ocean blue was a heavy steel warship that was pushing forward on a mission. And it wasn't alone. Surrounding the craft were several other ships of the same make. In the air, there were many Attack Choppers ready to fire at a first with enemy vessels. Finally, down below the surface, were a few submarines as well, keeping an eye out for enemy fire from their own playing field in the depths. This mighty battalion has pushed itself across the seas in order to get to their intended destination and nothing was going to stop them.
In the bridge of the flagship, the crew was hard at work controlling the ship. The captain that stood behind them, watching for anything that needed his supervision, stepped up after seeing their destination on the horizon. He walked up to the radio and opened a broadcast to all of his men in the company.
"Attention all craft! I know it's been a long journey. Fighting off MiG intruders, taking on Attack Subs, and Amphibious Guerilla Units. It seems like the whole world is trying to infiltrate our defenses." He pauses for a moment in order to gather himself. "Now, I know we lost Private Johnson along the way..." The captain looks to the men at the console, who still seemed to be grieving. "He was a good soldier and brought out the best in us. He did not sacrifice himself just so we could fail this payload drop off! We will honor him by finishing our mission, do you hear me?!"
All of the men in the room and even those unseen by him in the aircraft, submarines, and other warships all snap into a salute and shout: "Sir, yes sir!"
The captain smiles and salutes as well. "That's what I like to hear." He looks towards the man at the helm. "Lieutenant Aho!" The man at the wheel turns to him and stands at attention. "I know Pvt. Johnson was a friend of yours, as he was all of ours, but he was closest to you." The Lt. nods with a grim smile. "So, I would like you to honor him by joining me for the drop off and carrying the payload."
"Sir, thank you sir!"
"Now," The captain picks the radio back up. "This is moment we've all been waiting for men! This mission is about to come to an end. This is it! The day that Duel Academy gets its supply of new rare cards!"
*Knock, knock, knock!*
Jazz is here! Cecilia calls out after phasing through the door.
"Great, she's here for more food..." Max complains, but the smile he has shows there's no heat to his words. "One second!"
"Hey Max," Jasmine gives a cheeky grin after he opens the door. "Got breakfast ready?"
"You know you're the reason I have to have Croquet bring almost double the food right?" Max deadpans.
She just shrugs. "Your food's surprisingly better than what the chefs makes for the Blue Dorms. Plus, Croquet doesn't mind and your fridge has the space for extra 'rations'."
