blessing or curse?

chapter one

It was a cold summers morning in the Takeshi tribe and the cheifs daughter was already up and ready. She could be seen from 10 miles away with her firey red hair, with an attitude to match.

She headed into the huge tent building her father owns. "Hey father can I please go hunting today with the hunters?" She pleads. "No thalia i have told you this" her dad scoffs and thalia feels her blood boil. "But father thats not fair, artemis gets to go huntin!" She wines.

"Your brother is strong, he can handle hunting better, also fix your words thalia, hunting not huntin" her father says calmly. "No father, what you mean is he is a boy! Thats why I can't come hunting? Artemis is not nearly as smart as me, he's dipsey and stupid! He's also built like a stick and can barely hold himself up never mind a spear or bow" she shouts extremely angry at her father.

"You are a weak little girl thalia, you are red headed and freakaled and you barely eat enough to keep yourself alive, thats why your not out with your brother" her father snaps. "But im strong and I never miss a shot with a bow! If only you let me use one out of school practice!" She snaps and walks out, but not before she nicks her mothers best bow and a sheith full of 30 hand crafted arrows.

She takes off into the woods, they are technically off limits but who the hell if gonna catch her. She looks around, the gorgeous colours; the green or the trees and grass, the bright yellows and purples of the wild flowers. She loved it all.

She took an arrow and placed the notch in the string of the bow and shot it at a bird flying around her, it was doing her nut in. A wild cat started to run towards her, it was a familiar cat she had seen it many times. "Hey redd I missed ya boy" she said while picking up the auburn coloured begal tom cat.

The cat jumps up to stand on thalias shoulder "good boy" she says and continues to talk with the cat.

After a few miles she hears a stick snap, her grip tightens around the bow and she grabs an arrow. A few moments go by before and brunette girl steps out into the open, usually thalia had an amazing eye and could spot anything but this girl was hidden well, she did not want to be seen.

Thalia quickly points the loaded bow at the girl, the girl brings out a large black knife and points it to thalia, she expected the girl to be scared but thare was no fear in this girl. She lowers her bow and raises an eyebrow. The girl smirks "smart" she says, lowering her knife "I'm rowa, or rowana-lee but my dad named me so yea nah" she says in an un bothered tone.

"I'm thalia, I don't have a nickname" she says "OK fire girl, whos the cat?" Rowa says "this is redd, he's a wild cat but I love him, I rescued him when he had been attacked by a fox as a kitten" she says petting him. "Cute" she smiles "I'm guessing your Takeshi?" Rowa says and thalia nods.

"Your merikh?" She asks and rowa says, redd hisses and jumps of thalias shoulder. "Redd no" she says and picks him back up. A huge black dog walks up and thalia grabs her bow and arrow and points it to the dog and pulls the string back ready to shoot. "You shoot my fucking dog and ill cut your throat out" she snaps and burrows her hand into the dogs fur to reveal a red rope collar with a small plank of wood with a word carved into it.

The dog growels at thalia but rowa pulls him back "sit doxxer" she tells him and it sits down at her leg. "Why do you have a wolf?" She says "you ever seen a wolf? They are grey or white or white and black, and thin, dox is a wild dog hes much smaller than a wolf" she says "s-smaller?" Thalia stutters and rowa laughs.

"You look like someone, whats your last name" rowa says "aellarae why?" Thalia says and rowas grib tightens on the dogs rope collar. "Your the fucking princess of Takeshi! Shit fuck your people would hang me!" She shouts "you think I would snich?" Thalia says confused "more or less yea" rowa says .

Thalia laughs and pets redd "I hate my dad and my mum was killed by a pack of large dogs so I ain't telling no one" she says. "Oh" rowa loosens her grip on the collar so much he is able to get free and walk over to thalia. But unexpectedly he sits infront of her and looks up "I guess he likes you fire girl" rowa chuckles "dox come meer" she calls him back and throws him a chunk of what looks like rabbit.

"Your dad let's you hunt?" Thalia asks "yea more or less, I just do it anyway hes not cheif so he can't do anything about it, if he does ill send dox after him" rowa says with a chuckle. "Hey how did you say you got doxxer?" Thalia says "followed me home" rowa says. "Hey how you feel about 'following me home' bud?" Thalia says and looks at redd.

Thalias pov (bc its easier to write): 

Red nuzzles into my head, sometimes I wonder if he hears what I'm saying to him. "I really should go home before my father figures out i fucked off to the woods" I say "ok bye" rowana-lee says to me "will I ever see you again?" I ask "I dunno maby, I come here every day to hunt so if your here you might see me" she says. I smile, wave and start walking home.

Once I'm close to our town I pick up redd of off my shoulder and place him down on the ground "OK redd just follow me home" I say to him and we walk out, him a meter behind me. "Thare she is" I hear from my father "you took your mothers bow? And what the hell is that" he says and I scoff.

"Yea I took her bow and its my cat dumb ass" I snap and pick redd up. "Ugh whatever" my dsd days and I walk off to my cabin. I spend hours thinking of rowa before I fall asleep.
