(Late 1508)
It has been over a month since Rose had agreed to become Harry's mistress. They haven't consummated their relationship yet because Rose wanted to wait to tell her father before they did anything. Their relationship would affect everyone. The king had already accepted their relationship and his approval. He knew Harry would have Rose one way or another. He was glad Harry understood that marrying Catherine was for the best and that he could still have Rose even if it wasn't an ideal situation.
Rose couldn't have been more in love with Harry if it were possible. The whole court could tell they were together. They were not trying to hide it. Harry was just happy to see Rose so happy.
Today would be the day that Rose told her father of their relationship. She was nervous to tell him because she wanted his approval. Her sister already gave Rose her approval. While she did not agree with the relationship she wanted her sister to be happy. Cecily made sure Rose knew what the consequences would be before giving her full approval. She wanted to make sure her sister understood what it would mean to be the mistress of the future king. Rose's life would never be simple again once their relationship was consummated.
"Rose, are you ready to tell your father?" Harry asks, rubbing her hand.
"Yes, I am a little nervous but I really just want his approval." Rose replies.
"I am sure he will give his approval. He wants you to be happy." Harry states.
Rose nods and smiles. They were sitting in her family's chambers, waiting for her father to return from a meeting. Rose began to pace, she just wanted to tell her father and get it over with. She froze in her spot when she heard her father's voice outside the door.
"Your highness. How are you?" Her father asks, bowing to Harry.
"I am well, my lord." Harry replies.
"My dear, I am so happy to see you." Her father exclaims, hugging her.
"I have missed you, papa." Rose replies, hugging him tightly.
Her father took off his heavy coat and took a seat at his desk. He sorted through the letters that had piled up.
"Rosie, as happy as I am to see you and the prince, why are you here?" Her father asks.
He knew that Rose spent most of her days with the princess and the little free time she had was spent with the prince. The king had told him that they had something to ask him but was leaving it to their children.
"Papa, I wish to gain your approval. The prince and I are in love and wish to be together. I know he is betrothed to Princess Catherine but I wish to be with him. The king has given us his approval, and Cecily and her husband have given it as well." Rose states, deciding to be blunt was best.
"Are you aware of what will happen if you get into a relationship with his highness?" Her father asks, slightly disappointed.
"Yes, papa. Cecily has told me and I understand what it means." Rose replies.
"I want you to be happy and if this is what it takes, then you have my approval." Her father says.
"Thank you, papa!" Rose exclaims, hugging him.
"Your highness, do not hurt my Rose. I know that you are the future king but please do not hurt my daughter." Her father states.
"I would rather die than hurt Rose, my lord." Harry replies.
Rose goes to Harry and hugs him. She had the last thing she needed before they could consummate their relationship.
