Nightmares and New Dreams

No One's POV

The crowd screamed wildly as Adam raced down the track, having already disposed of his opponent, he decided to show off a bit. When he finally crossed the finish line he was surrounded by his group of followers, his personal group that is. There, in the midst of all the males talking to and guarding Adam, there was a lone female, one who gently took Adam's board from him, and followed behind him as he walked to his throne-like chair to watch the last of that evenings races. He gave the girl a smile, one that looked loving to everyone watching, but he and the girl both knew what that smile meant. "Oh my little darling," he purred, obviously displeased. The female stayed quiet, knowing that no matter what they responded with would send Adam into a rage that no one could stop. Adam leaned in and whispered something in the female's ear, making her squirm in her spot. He laughed, knowing what was to come, she watched him grab his board from her, raise it high above his head, and------------

Your POV

I bolted into an upright position in bed, sweat dripping down my body, shaking while I tried to clear the night terror from my brain. Shhhh Y/n, it was only a dream, it's not real, you're not there anymore, you're safe now. I silently consoled myself, trying to calm myself down.

I got out of bed and stood on wobbly legs, and slowly made my way to the balcony, knowing that the fresh ocean breeze would calm me down. Looking up at the stars, I started thinking about things. What do I do now? Ever since my surgeries, I can't surf anymore, I'm too sensitive to the sun in my left eye. I know I have options, but I don't know where to start. What if whatever I do next fails like surfing did? Well, surfing wasn't a fail, it was my life, but after I got hurt on that night...... I can't think about that. I'm trying to calm down, not make myself panic any worse. I'll figure something out. Maybe it's time to go home, start over that. I'm sure big brother will let me crash until I get on my feet again. I'll send him a text later. Against my better judgment, I decided to take a walk down to the beach.

I got down to the beach access, and as I did, I saw some teenagers skate boarding. I sighed, it seems that no matter where I am, I can't escape the skateboarding scene. I'm not completely complaining, but I don't want to be as involved in it anymore. I lost too many people and too much to still want to be there. I never got on a skate board in front of others, but I did it a lot by myself. I was pretty good, but surfing  was my passion, so I never bothered skating around others.

I sat on the beach for about 4 hours, watching the sun come up, bathing the world in it's glorious light. I was admiring it, wishing I could shine as bright as it did, all while putting on my sunglasses so that my left eye wouldn't hurt. My internal debate on whether or not to go get breakfast was rudely interrupted by an incoming call, it was a business acquaintance from Drift, a surfing company that was looking to hire me as a spokesperson.

"G'day, surf's bloody great today! Y/n speaking." I spoke into the phone. "Oy, if it ain't my favorite champion, up bright and early! And, if my ears don't deceive me, on the beach. What's up Y/n, couldn't sleep?" Lachlan said, sounding happier than normal. "Nah, too much to think about Lach, what's up? You haven't called since I pulled from the most recent competition, is everything ok?" I asked, worried. "No worries Y/n, everything is fine, I just wanted to ask if you wanted to meet up for brunch, I have some ideas I want to talk about with you and you alone. Ditch your dumb manager and meet me at the usual place. I'll see you in 10."

Time Skip

2 weeks later and I'm on a plane from my previous home of Australia to my old home of Japan, back to my past, back to my family. To a new start........
