In computer studies first lesson, all I could think about was that guy. I didn't even know his name. Was he new? I hadn't been in the last couple weeks of last term but why haven't I seen him? If Katy had seen him before she would of told me how hot he was? Almost all of our conversations are about hot guys. Was she keeping things from me? Or was he really new?
Why didn't Katy make eye contact or even interact with him? What was it about this boy? I had so many queries and they needed to be answered.
I'm so confused.
I spun around my seat and turned to Katy. While Mr Manton was lecturing, I decided I'd take this time to find out a little bit more about this mysterious guy.
I was about to start whispering to Katy when pointed to her phone and mouthed the words 'text me'. She obviously didn't want to be caught talking with me again! Therefore I pulled out my phone and started to type a message, I needed answers.
- You know that guy before, why didn't you even look at him & who is he? X-
When I hit send it I shot Katy a look to tell her it was sent and spun back around to write a few more notes on the lecture. A few seconds later, buzz.
- Chels, stay away from him! Trust me, he's not worth it. X -
I glared at my phone confused.
Why wasn't he worth it?
Had he betrayed Katy?
I quickly tapped another message, curious - I immediately wanted to collect more information on him.
- What do you mean he isn't worth it? Who is he? X-
I shoved my phone in my pocket afraid of the answer. Surely a guy that hot can't be that bad. Saying that all really hot guys are either gay or assholes. Sigh.
I stared at the big green chalkboard in front of me for several minutes, the room was almost silent apart from a few people chatting right at the back and Mr Mantons useless lecture.
It had been about three minutes, why wasn't Katy answering?
I turned round to let her know I was waiting for her reply. When I turned round she was so busy tapping away on her phone she hadn't even noticed me.
In the mean time I decided to take more notes on the everlasting lecture.
Buzz!
I jumped out of my skin which caused a few people to look at me, this made me slightly embarrased. Mainly because of the buzz but I was scared for the answer. Why? I will never know. I had barely spoke four words to the guy.
When I opened the text Katy had sent me, I was faced with what looked like an essay.
- Trust me when I tell you this, he's a bad person. Uses girls, gets in 2 fights, breaks hearts. And no, before you ask he hasn't broken mine. He came to University 2 weeks before the end of last term, when you was off. Nobody really knows that much about him but apparently his background is awful. He's hit it off here and now is 1 of the 'popular bad boys' I know he's super hot but he's not your type & personally he's a bit of a creep, plus I heard he's been done 4 drug dealing + everything, just stay away chels, 4 your own good x -
I didn't know how to reply to that, all my questions had just been answered in one essay text. Katy knows how my mind works and would of known all the questions I was going to fire at her.
Okay, number one - He's a player. How did I not see that coming? I mean he could get any girl he liked!
Number two - He's not broken my best friends heart but what does she have against him and why did she seem to hate him so much?
Number three - A tough background, now that had me intrigued, what sort of background? I needed answers, obviously Katy wasn't going to help, she kept her distance.
Number four - Taking drugs? No. I don't want to believe that, he would have a much paler face but he didn't have a perfectly tanned body and he'd stink but he didn't. He smelt so warm and inviting, a bit like heaven. I thought to myself.
I hadn't even had a conversation with this drug-taking, heartbreaker and I was saying he smelt like heaven.
I had officially lost it.
I was still staring at my phone re-reading Katy's mini-essay text message.
All I could reply was. . .
- What's his name? -
As I hit send I heard Katy whisper "Chelsea. Chels. Chelsea!" I chose to ignore her because of the shock her essay text had caused me. I slowly tilted my head up. Damn. Mr Manton was stood above me with a disapproving look on his face. I'd been so lost in my thoughts about err, whoever he was that I'd hadn't realised my angry professor had caught me staring at my phone. He stood towering above me with his hand out.
"Chelsea Tanner. Phone. NOW!" He screamed with an angry dominating tone. Mr Manton was the only one of my professors who hated me. The first year at University, when I was well known, popular and loved, I messed up and told Mr Manton he was practically an ass (which he so totally is.) After that he never really forgave me and has been holding a grudge to me ever since.
All eyes in the room were on me. I use to love the attention but now I hate it. I flushed bright red with embarrassment and gave Mr Manton my phone and muttered "I'm sorry."
He spun round and returned back to the front saying "You can make it up in detention, tonight."
Wonderful. Not only had I just been majorly embarrassed but now I have to spend a full hour tonight with him. Just wonderful.
