Chapter III ~ First Day

When I was driving back from her house I let her name tap on the tip of my tongue repeatedly saying it out loud.
Why did this name sound so familiar?
Maybe i'll google her later, I mean can't hurt right? Clearly she has to be someone important with that house she's got. If I google her I could probably find the name of her business or something.

I had finally arrived home and I immediately jumped onto to my bed and grabbed my laptop, letting my fingers roam the keyboard, each finger tapping the letter that would spell out her name into the google search bar.

When I pressed enter my screen was flooded with information.

Holy shit...

What the fuck?

She had a profile under wikipedia and an entire wikipedia page written about her. Many photographs of her came up as well, some looked like paparazzi pictures? Some looked like...red carpet pictures? Then her name came up.

"Scarlett Johansson."
I scrolled a bit to see her age.

"Age 36."
I read out loud. She is definitely much older than me, I'm only 23 but that I excepted.
Under her name and age there was description as well.

"Scarlett Johansson is an American actress. The world's highest-paid actress in 2018 and 2019, she has featured multiple times on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2021."

She's an actress?! No wonder she sounded familiar! I
immediately clicked on her movies/tv shows tab and I recognized only a few.

"Oh my god she was in that movie?!"
How could I not have recognized her? I have so many questions...
Why would she have an ad on some plain old job website? She's rich and famous how does she not have a maid already? Did she fire the last one or something? Why me?!

I cant believe this...my jaw is still slacked wide open staring at my computer screen. I was pulled out of my state of shock by the phone ringing causing me to jolt up out of bed and close my laptop quickly.

I definitely wanted to stalk her a little bit and do more research on her but I shouldn't...
I need to be respectful of her I mean she is my boss now. I should respect her privacy...but highest paid actress?! I need to know more.

No, I definitely shouldn't.

I quickly pick up the phone and it was just my mom checking on me like she does once a week. I told her about some stuff but I kept it pretty vague because quite frankly I was getting hungry and wanted some lunch.

I walked over to one of the closest restaurants I knew and sat down in the cold booth waiting for my waitress to come.

"Hi, my name is Bella, i'll be your serv-"
She cut herself off when she had finally looked up from the notepad she was holding, writing something quickly.

"Hey, Bella."
I smiled at her.

"Oh my god! Serena?!"
She gave me that smile I hadn't seen in so long.

Bella and I grew up together in the cold streets of New York. We have known each other since the 6th grade, our friendship has always been inseparable until we got older. We both had different ambitions that would eventually grow us apart, that often happens naturally in friendships. She moved away to L.A about 2 years ago, we would speak on occasion. When we did it was like nothing ever changed, like time never passed us. She had told me she was working as a waitress for money so she could start her business in L.A. I stayed in New York for a while, I thought that's where I wanted to be. I mean I did go to a really decent acting school in New York for a while but I wasn't getting much jobs, that's when I decided to move to the land of the stars and sinners, L.A.
I hadn't spoken to her in a year, I knew the restaurant she worked at but I honestly didn't think she would still be working here.
