After handing his phone to Lian with the directions to his secret apartment, Kuea seemed to nod off. As his body relaxed, his head jerked to the left and fell on Lian's shoulder. Lian's hands shot up reflexively, making sure that Kuea didn't hurt himself. His left hand reached for Kuea's cheek as his right hand gently cupped his chin. Kuea's hand reached up for Lian's left hand and he pulled it towards himself, looking at it. "You have the same ring as Hia?" he asked. Lian chuckled softly. "You must be Hia... But it can't be." As he said this, Kuea nestled his head deeper into Lian's shoulder. Lian looked at him. He brought his hand back up and stroked his hair and face gently.  Kuea looked up at Lian.

"Can I ask you something?" Lian didn't respond; instead he kept looking at Kuea, waiting for him to continue. "Have you ever wanted to hug me?" He waited for a response, but Lian didn't say anything, turning away instead. "Have you ever wanted to kiss me?" "Nu Kuea..." started Lian, but he didn't finish. "You don't love me... That's why you never wanted to do that, right?" asked Kuea, looking up at Lian with his big, beautiful, sad eyes.

"Why don't you love me? Can't you love me just a little bit?" he asked, his eyes welling with tears, his lips quivering. "Just a bit is enough for me" he said, practically pleading. Lian's heart sank. "Why? Why don't you love me? I want you to love me. I've always been a good boy. I want to marry you. But why don't you want to marry me? Why don't you love me? I love you so much. I didn't want to call off the engagement." continued Kuea, tears now streaming down his face. Lian didn't know what to say, didn't know where to start... His hand came up and gently cupped Kuea's face, his thumb softly stroking Kuea's chin. "Can you love me back? You can just pretend to love me" sobbed Kuea.

Lian was overwhelmed with emotion. He had never wanted to hurt Kuea, had never wanted him to doubt his love. He had simply wanted to wait until he felt deserving of Kuea's love, but perhaps he'd been wrong. Perhaps he had gone about it the wrong way, made all the wrong decisions. He looked at the beautiful boy in front of him, this boy he loved with every fiber of his being and who was hurting because of him. Slowly, he leaned forward as he lifted Kuea's chin. He paused, looking at Kuea, then, holding his breath, he pressed his lips against Kuea's lips. The first thought that came to him was how incredibly soft they were, how incredibly sweet. They were perfect.

His hand reached for Kuea's neck as he kissed him softly. He'd been holding back the desire to kiss Kuea for years but now that he had finally crossed this line, kissing him felt like the most natural thing in the world, like this was what he had always been meant to do. He reached up and softly kissed the tip of his nose, his cupid's bow, then his lips again. He felt Kuea's lips press against his, breathlessly kissing him back. It felt as if both of them were dreaming and they were trying to be as gentle and quiet as possible so the dream wouldn't end. "We've arrived" the driver suddenly said. He hadn't even noticed that the car had stopped moving. In fact, he'd forgotten they were even in a car. Nothing other than Kuea existed in that moment. Regretfully, Lian pulled away from Kuea. As he did, Kuea's head came down on his shoulder. Lian smiled at this, stroking Kuea's soft hair. "I'll help you sir", offered the driver. "It's ok. I got this."
