Here is a fun fact about me. I have been in love with my best friend for as long as I can remember. My best friend being the most popular pilot in this Harbour. Danny Walker. Danny Walker, Rafe McCawley and I have been bestfriends since I was 8, Danny was 9 and Rafe was 10. I remember 1 particular childhood memory, which is when Danny, Rafe and I flew. We didn't imagine it, no. We literally took off, we were in the air. It was accidental but I always knew from then on that I was to be a pilot. Then I found out women couldn't be pilots, so I settled for the next best thing, which is a plane mechanic. I repair the planes that have been damaged at Pearl Harbour. I do thoroughly enjoy what I do but that doesn't mean I don't still wish to be up there with the men fighting and flying. The boys always talk about how exhilarating it is to be up in the air, flying around, going through the clouds. Defying gravity. But you don't always get what you want so I do what I can to at least work with planes.

Currently we are working on an Aichi 3A2. The engine has completely blown. It's a luck that there were no fatalities while flying this but now we have got it in the workshop where no one can fly. There is a few perks to my job, number 1 being, I do occasionally get to fly, testing out the planes after we have repaired them, number 2, my favourite. I get to see my best friends everyday. Like right now for instance, sometimes the pilots will come in and have a check around the damaged aircrafts, see if they can do anything to help, most of them can't but Danny and Rafe went through special training as I, to know what to do.

After joining the military, my feelings for Danny only became more tempestuous. More noticeable to me. I also realised that he has about 3 other women wanting him, all nurses. How could I compete with those beautiful nurses?.

"Y/N you can go on your break now!" Sergeant shouts, he startles me out my own little world i was in. "Thank you Sir!".

I walk out the workshop, pulling my overalls down to my waist and wrapping the sleeves around my waist holding it up. My tank top now showing. 

Grabbing my water bottle I feel someone wrap their arms around my waist and start running around with me, knowing immediately who it was I start laughing. "Over here!" Rafe shouts, Danny runs me over to Rafe and chucks me to him, "hey! put me down!. Put me down!." Finally my feet hit the floor and I feel relieved. "Idiots" I say, nudging them both in the side. "Whos work going?" Danny asks, "uhm, yeah alright. This engine feels near impossible to fix but...". "if anyone can its you Y/N" Rafe compliments my skills. "Don't be silly. I'm not THAT good", "not that good? you're work ethic is like no other, even Serg said that!", "yeah well, it's my passion". 

"What about the both of you? How's being in the air?", "well we haven't been doing the usual things we'd be doing, lately we've been having to perfect the perfect landing. But other than that it's been great". I nod, intrigued, "I can imagine it's quite tricky getting it perfect. But you boys know your stuff, I'm sure you'll get it soon". 

"You coming to the bar tonight?" Danny asks, "I might pop in, I'm not really feeling the crowd today" I explain, "Oh come on Y/N you have to. Guess who will be there!". "Uhh... Frank Sinatra?" I add sarcastically. Danny laughs, Rafe scowls, Yeah. He doesn't like when im sarcastic too much.

"Lieutenant Billy! you know the guy you always watch", my cheeks go red, "I do not!" Y/N whines, "do too. We always catch you watching him. Yesterday for instance, we were painting our planes, we were helping Billy and all I saw were your eyes watching him intensely. I didn't realise they'd seen me. Little do they actually know I wasn't watching Billy... I was watching the tall, Dark Handsome one next to him. Danny. I guess them assuming I have a thing for Billy is better than them knowing the truth.
