Home - Cavetown

He stared out the window, rain drawing tears on his window with heaving breath. Laurens sighed, looking over at the picture of him and Alexander laughing together. Atleast he didn't have to worry about him breaking his heart.
He stayed numb as Alex avoided him after the war, since it completely changed John.

He wished he hadn't survived if he knew he'd seem less human.

He cut his hair short curing the war, so it wouldn't be in the way. Which surprised Alex, the man he fell inlove with .. changed completely.
Alex arrived at his door, soaked in rain as Laurens let him in.
"Are you dead?" He suddenly asked, causing Laurens too sigh. "Sometimes I think I'm dead, because I can feel ghosts and ghouls wrapping my head." He answered solemnly, his eyes softening with fear as he remembered the blood. The screaming. Everything. He couldn't even be his old self, he no longer cared, he has the blood of many on his once soft innocent hands.
They stayed silent, before the freckled male sighed. "Alex, you should go home." He answered bluntly to the redhead. Causing him to be in utter shock.
"Laurens-" "Alexander." This caused the writer to fall silent, head hung low. Those eyes, those cold eyes. He wasn't Laurens anymore.
He wasn't the man who was his closest friend, his love interest, his everything. Not anymore. "I see, I guess you're just the shell of Laurens. Is that correct?" He asked, getting no response. He missed the times they drank together, they'd laugh together, they'd face the world's challenges together - but the war changed him far more than he thought it could.
Alex and the old Laurens were friends even before John had transitioned to a male. He remembered his breath being taken away whenever he no longer saw him in that tight dress he always wore, but his chest flattened by the old corset he owned that he put on his chest - it took his breath away and made him stare, making him fall even more inlove.
But he was gone. He was shoved into a box and locked in tight. His humor, his smile, his laugh, his comfort, everything.
