Hancock opened her eyes when she heard the sound of Luffy's voice calling out her name.

"Hancock! Oi! Stay with me!"

Her body was aching too much, and she felt like she couldn't handle the pain any longer.

"Heal her, Torao!"

She heard Luffy beg the man beside him.

"She needs to be taken to the operating room immediately, she has lost too much blood, and I can't guarantee her survival...Luffy-san."

She recognized the doctor's voice.

Suddenly, she couldn't hear their voices anymore, she could only see Luffy saying something she couldn't hear, with tears running down his cheeks.

She extended a hand to reach for Luffy's face. The last thing she wanted to see was Luffy crying in front of her, especially on his special day. It's rare to see Luffy cry like this, and she felt bad because she was the reason why he was crying like this.

When she saw blood on her hands, she pulled them away, not wanting to dirty Luffy, but Luffy immediately held her hand and continued crying while saying something.

She wished she could have heard what he had been talking about.

She wished she had been more careful about her body before she regretted everything.

She discovered she had an illness for two years now.

She got it when she focused so much on work and didn't get enough sleep and rest. It's the reason being that she became more sensitive and would get angry over little things. She experienced frequent mood swings. She was taking medications, but they weren't working for her. That's why she stopped taking them months ago. She never told anyone about it, not even Luffy. She's sure he'd just worry about her, and she doesn't want that.

The doctor who's beside Luffy is the same doctor who checked on her.

'What a small world.'

If it had been a different situation, she would have laughed at Luffy calling him Torao. He must have struggled to pronounce Doctor Trafalgar's last name again.

She thought her illness would be the cause of her death, but it turned out she was wrong.

She could feel her body going numb. The searing pain within her was beyond her control. She knew she couldn't stay any longer.

'Am i dying?'

She asked at the back of her mind.

'Judging by how I've been living my life, I guess dying is the best option for me. At least, I won't have to worry about anything anymore.'

If she were to be born again in another life, she wouldn't want to be like her present self. She would want to be a strong woman capable of living on her own without having to depend on anyone.

She would never allow anyone to hurt or use her, and she would become more confident in herself.

If her beauty remains with her in her next life, she wants it to be a beauty that will have men petrified simply by looking at her.

And then...

She hoped that she would be able to meet him once again.

She wanted to tell him her feelings without hesitating or fearing rejection.

She would become more understanding of things.

She wished that she wouldn't be alone anymore. She wanted to have two younger sisters, or perhaps even a whole island full of people, who she could call her family.

She smiled at her own thoughts.

She could feel her eyelids drooping. She wanted to rest already. Her body was too tired for anything else.

She glanced one last time at the boy who had become a big part of her life.

"L-Luffy, I-I am tired. C-can I s-sleep now?"

She whispered, even though she couldn't hear her own voice anymore, she was also struggling to open her mouth to pronounce any words.

Luffy cried harder and continued shaking his head. She was somehow grateful that she couldn't hear his voice crying, it would probably hurt more than what she was feeling right now.

"Don't cry. I couldn't hear your voice anymore."

Luffy is crying and shaking his head as he tells her to stop talking.

Before she closed her eyes, she saw Luffy mumble something to her.

"Ai-shi-te-ru"

[Translation: I love you]

She smiled. She wanted to keep those words in her mind as her last memory. But she knew she was just fooling herself.

"A-ri-ga-to"

[Translation: Thank you]

That was Luffy's last words before Hancock drifted into a long time of sleep.

She's 28 and Luffy was 21 when Hancock died after being struck by a car near the 12th Ward in East Blue. It happened around 12:08 am., and was declared dead upon arrival.
