Scarlet sat on the hard wood floor absorbing the sunlight as she released all her negative energy by taking a breath in and out. This was a method she was taught by humans, it was called 'meditating'. For the long period of time she spent on the planet Delta you could say she has taken quite a liking to them. Like may be a weak word to describe that, adored and loved might better suit what she felt for them, no, actually she was opssesed. Even when things crumbled between them , the love and protective feelings she had for them never ceased to exist. Although most of the population thought they'd never forgive them for the things they've done, time truly healed the general population. Scarlet did forgive the humans for their actions, and so did they, something that she never could do with...him , together they restored peace or for lack of a better word, tolerance to each other as much as they could. Scarlet was what you might call a favorite amongst the human race, the other protectors were only tolerated but still looked down upon because they never tried to make peace, after all how could they... Time healed the planet much more then any contract or agreement could and helped everyone grow in every way possible. As she thought about all of these memories and strong feelings they carried with them. She started reminiscing on the memories she had with everyone from the past, it always gave her a sour, metallic taste in her mouth. Flashing lights, blood, violence, war, it was all she could see if she thought about it too much. Quickly, she tried to clear her mind of all the negative feelings those memories had brought with them. This was a time to relax after all. Once again she took a deep breath in...and out, the scent of the zeeno flower candle filled her senses relaxing every muscle on the body until the only thing she felt was the floor she sat on. Once again deep breath in and.... BUZZZZZ. 'OH FOR FUCKS SAKE' Scarlet yelled out loud,
'Okay calm down take a deep breath 1, 2, 3" Scarlet thought to herself, that was another method for anger control management she learned from humans. She tried to get up as quickly as possible but the tense muscles from spending so much time in one position made it harder for her. Quickly she walked across to the kitchen, running not to answer the phone but to make the anger go away. She grabbed her neat little boxy phone and pressed on the green button that was flashing at her threateningly. 'Yes hello this is Scarlet speaking" she said in an exaturated happy and cheerfull voice. "Hey Scarlet it's Oliver from Delta National Security do you have a moment to talk". Scarlet rolled her eyes, every time she heard Olivers voice it was like a part of her died, she had a full body reaction that consisted only of desperation and annoyance. "Well dear Oliver do you ever think to call me to see how I'm doing instead of only calling when you need me to be your little savior" she smiled and quickly changed her expression as if someone could somehow be watching her in her little boxy isolated apartment. "Hm...well you've got a point dear old Scarlet how are you doing by the way" she heard his annoying scrony voice through the phone. "Well thank you for asking kind mister, I was doing perfectly fine, meditating and relaxing and then I got this god forsaken call and now I'm feeling worse then ever and the fact that they sent YOU to call me out of everyone from DNS makes me feel like you all hate me" Scarlet replied. There was a pause until Oliver replied again "Oh no baby don't get the wrong impression, they just know how much love and respect you have for me and th..." Scarlets laugh was so loud that he couldn't even get a word out. "Oh Oliver let's just cut this short, what the hell happened this time" they both laughed and when the noise died down Oliver spoke without interruption this time. "Well basically this morning the PORO ship was headed to the Vincora shore and everything was going smoothly until a 20 meter romba fish attacked the ship and trapped the men of the ship with those giant slimy arms of his, luckily they all escaped but now no one dares to approach near and so the most logical answer on who to call was you'. "Yeah call the fish girl to calm down the giant fish makes sense, well do you want me to teleport there, do you even know how far Vincora is from me?" . "They'll be a chopper at the roof of your building in about ten minutes, don't look too busted as you usually do". "Yeah, yeah screw you" Scarlet answered and hung up the phone. She quickly lunged her body to the bathroom as if putting red lipstick and the thickest eyeliner possible was going to save the entire world from the pits of desperation. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and all she saw was a girl who was really trying her best. Although her hair was big and poofy she never had the need to style it, there was a sort of beauty in the chaos of it all. She brushed it downward a bit, and stopped just before the brush started to break. Not even a meditation would fix the anger of a broken brush. She continued the glamorous process of getting ready by walking over to her giant gold embroidered closet that consisted of only black clothes and chains. Her style was, as the humans would call it, punk. Or as she would like to call it, get away from me. As always she grabbed the most beloved peace of her wardrobe, a black leather jacket. In her eyes there was no problem that a black leather jacket couldn't fix. As she was putting it on she heard the annoyingly loud sound of the chopper landing. She quickly assembled the rest of her outfit and ran right through the front door and onto the roof staircase. There was a big white chopper with a giant DNS logo all over it. "Show-offs" Scarlet whispered to herself. The door opened and the man inside the chopper was waving at her to get inside. Thus she quickly walked towards the chopper and sat inside. With a shocked expression on her face she looked at the pilot "SANDRAH? I THOUGHT YOU DIED". " That's no way to talk to your elders Scarlet" Sandrah said with a heartwarming smile on her face. "Ohhh I've missed you so much Sandrah, I thought you retired". "Well long story short, I got bored, I'm not the type of old lady to sit at home and knit, what I need is some action in my elderly years, I'd rather shoot down planes my dear Scarlet". Sandrah had a sort of warmness in the way she looked and acted, she wasn't just a sweet old lady. She was a sweet old lady that killed people. "Well I'm glad they sent you out of everyone, now come on let's go save some fishermen"
When they flew over the Teirod sea was when she caught a first glimpse of the terrifying creature. The ship was big yet the creatures dark purple tentacles where even larger, it squeezed the ship so hard that you could hear the metal squeaking, luckily there were no people on board. Or else that would have been a ghostly scene. Yet even if there were, the captain cared more about the material that was on board rather then the people that kept it safe. Greed always won over moral. It was the reason that Scarlet was called, she was one of the select few that still had a sense of morality in them. She cared for the people of the planet as much as the animals that lived on it. They landed near the dock. There were surprisingly a lot of people there, looking horrified from the event that they had just witnessed. Most of the crew were wrapped in towels as their wet hair dripped onto the concrete. But when Scarlet landed, it was like a ray of sunshine went over the entire coast. They all locked eyes on her as she stepped out of the chopper. Their savior had come once again. As she walked towards the people, every step she took seemed to increase their smiles. Her hair flowed with her along the wind as she came closer. An elderly man with the sweetest smile she'd ever seen looked up at her "Lady Scarlet, we're pleased to see you" he said, Scarlet simply nodded with a grin on her face. "I know you're busy being a celebrity and everything but there's a gigantic scary creature over there, I don't know if you've noticed" she heard Oliver behind her and saw his scrawny little face as she turned around. "Oh no I haven't mighty warrior, may I ask for your forgiveness" she replied. "Alright you two stop screwing around and let's just get this over with" chief Michael spoke behind Oliver. He was as good of an agent as he was a buzzkill. "Let me walk you through it Scarlet, that romba fish over there is a little bigger compared to the usual size of it's species and it normally doesn't come into contact with humans which is why we find it so weird. I want you to look underwater and report to us if you find anything out of the ordinary, if you manage to communicate with the romba that would be helpful as well". Scarlet looked at him for a moment and squinted her eyes "May I just ask chief Michael, what are you carrying on that ship because the fish clearly didn't give up once all the people left, which tells me it's intent isn't really on the people now is it?". "That's government classified information and it's also not in your line of work, now stop asking questions and do your damn job or do I have to remind you why you're even in this position in the first place" chief Michael raised his voice at her. "Oh well... that tells me just about everything I need to know" Scarlet looked him right in the eyes and smiled as she ran quickly and jumped into the water. The water was unclear and hazy as first. Sunlight pierced through the surface. She felt like an eagle soaring through the sky every time she swam through the vast emptiness that was the ocean. She wasn't afraid of what might be swimming around inside the ocean, she wanted to see it all, to be a part of it, to be one with the ocean. As she swam farther a sworn of small, white ergo fishes went right through her, it was like a warm hug. Even though the creatures of the ocean never spoke the way humans do, she understood them, every single word they communicated to her. As she swam more and more the blue hue of the ocean slowly turned into a piercing yellow cloud of toxicity. She had the right idea, there was MX2 on that ship. A chemical found inside the mines of the town of Klober. It made them millions when they sold it to the people of the Merian continent. Although the government issued a statement that they banned the export of MX2 after the environmental protests Scarlet had a gut feeling that they never stopped, and she was right. They made too much money for them to stop because of such a small thing as the populations health and the planets well being. As she continued to swim toward the center she started to see the chemical was starting to take an effect on her, she felt drowsy and tired, this need to be over quickly. After a few minutes of swimming was when she saw it. The creature wasn't terrifying as they had described it, it was merely misunderstood. It had a dark purple color that faded into an even darker blue near the end. It was about 20 meters long with 8 tentacles on its sides. It layed it's entire body against the ship and wrapped every single tentacle around it. It was moving fast, lunging it's body forwards whilst still holding the ship. As Scarlet was getting closer, what caught her eye was something hiding beside a big rock in the shadow of the creature. She had children. The creature wasn't protecting herself she was protecting her children, it all made sense now. She attacked because she felt threatened, she was only a mother. Scarlet swam quickly towards the children, but in an attempt to save them she only angered the creature. An ear piercing screech was heard as she dropped the ship and lunged her entire body towards Scarlet, she was angry. Scarlet turned around and put her hand out, that simple gesture aimed water pressure towards the creature, it was so strong that it knocked her over a little bit. "I am not here to fight you I'm here to save you, thus I beg of you please listen to me" Scarlet told the creature as she looked at her pitch black eyes, although she did not speak with her through words. The creature looked stunned and drew back her tentacles. "Please take your children and run far away I will take care of everything else". The creature spun around in a circle, a thank you gesture for the romba fishes. She swam towards her children and rubbed her head up against all of them, they followed behind her as she carried onwards. Scarlet closed her eyes for a second to calm down and then started the process. She gathered all of the toxic gasses that roamed around in the ocean into a big yellow ball of toxic fumes and released it out of the water and onto the open. "I trust you will take care of this Luna" Scarlet whispered to herself. "Now let's take care of this bad boy" she used water pressure to lunge the ship upwards onto the surface once more. She pushed it alongside her as she swam back to the shore. Scarlet pushed herself from the water and jumped onto the hard concrete of the docking station. As she landed there was a big round of applause from all of the people there. They were smiling once again, they were free. She walked over to the government officials that were there, Chief Michael spoke to her "Well done Scarlet, well done, I trust you'll keep some of the things you came across between us" he smiled and wrapped his hands around her as they walked. "You know if it wasn't for our agreement you would be six feet under by now, but yes let's keep it between us" Scarlet whispered in his ear, they both smiled awkwardly. Oliver yelled out both of their names and as they turned around they saw all of the government officials gathered in a circle. They were all chatting and whispering, they looked as humans would say, as if they've seen a ghost. They walked over to them. "I...I don't know how to even explain this". Oliver looked absolutely horrified. "Just spit it out why do you look so petrified" Scarlet asked him in a serious tone. "We just got a call from DNS headquarters, Khan... he escaped..."
