Pay Attention to Me(Uzi/N)

Part Two in Which Uzi isn't so patient.

It had been nearly a month since Uzi banished herself from the colony, and frankly she found it rather nice to be doing her own thing with N. He was a very good friend even though he would practically always beg for attention at the most random of times...

She was also able to get information about what was going on inside of the doors due to Thad constantly visiting her to drop off materials, or just talk about recent events. He was great company as well whenever he came by. 

However, she was in a pretty bad mood that night… From what Thad had told her the day previous, Khan was trying to rebuild his doors and forget about Uzi. Anytime someone brought her up, he would immediately shut down the conversation or steer it towards doors. 

Upon hearing this Uzi was rather pissed and hurt, but not surprised. Her father WAS pathetic. 

Right now she was sitting in one of the chairs of the landing pod, tinkering with some of the equipment to try and upgrade it. It had been easier lately with all the pieces Thad would drop off for her, but she was still one drone so progress was slow... Very slow. Which meant she spent more time working on it... Meaning less time for N.

And even though N spent most of his time with Uzi, he still couldn't stop the feeling that crawled up his mechanical spine every time he saw the other worker drone walk up to Uzi and chat with her. The feeling of wanting all that attention to himself, wanting to be cooed at or at least given some more affectionate touches, like headpats or belly rubs.

He knew it wasn't right to want to hog all of her attention to himself, but could you really blame him? He spent who knows how many years being abused by J, and Uzi is the first person that was ever nice to him. And he just couldn't stop himself from wanting more of that feeling. More of the love he feels whenever she gives him her attention. 

True, he shouldn't be that addicted to it, but like J once said, he was like a puppy. Once you gave him attention, he would only want more and more. And she was right, he did want more.

Standing in front of the entrance to the pod, he peeked inside, eyes watching the worker warily.

He knew she was in a sour mood today. He also knew she was always annoyed whenever he crawled to her begging for attention, but she never got too mad, right?

So she wouldn't mind ifff...

"Uzi?" He asked, stepping into the pod, tail slightly coiling around himself in case she would get mad or startled.

True to his thoughts she was suddenly surprised when his voice piped up, an exclamation point forming on her visor as she whipped around while clutching a wrench. She must've been really into her tinkering for her to get startled like that. 

"Who the-?! Oh..." The small worker started before seeing that it was just her partner in crime, N. "Geez... What have I told you about sneaking up on me like that?" She asked in a mildly annoyed tone before she turned back around, resuming to work on the pod once again. At least she showed him some attention...? Then again, that wasn't the type of attention N was after here.

N gulped and glanced around, gripping his own tail and clutching it in an attempt to calm himself a bit and reassure all was fine. "Sorry! I kinda- forgot, hehe-!" He said, doing his little chuckle after.

Going closer, he glanced at what she was working on. "Still working on the pod?" He asked, obviously knowing the answer. She was working on it for quite a while now and surely a break would do her good. Especially when she was feeling so tense.

The smol worker didn't seem to respond to him, since she was completely focused on the work she was doing at that point. Then again this was in a worker's programming. Keep working on a project until it's completed 100%. No wonder she didn't seem too keen on taking breaks...
