Beth

I secretly have a crush on Shawn Andersen, the school's only intersex student. Trey and his friends beat her on a daily basis because she's different. I know I say mean things to her, but I'm head cheerleader and most popular girl in school.

I've watched her get beaten up enough. Today I'm going to walk up to her in front of the entire school and take her in a kiss. It's the third week of our senior year of high school and I want to spend it with her if she feels the same about me.

I pull into school with Mandy and already Trey is making his way to Shawn as she stands under the big tree in front of the school. I quickly get out and run over to her as Trey reaches her. I stand in between them, scowling at Trey and his friends. "Move Beth, this doesn't concern you," Trey says angrily.

"Actually, it does. I should have done this freshman year," I say full of confidence and turn around, pulling her in a passionate kiss.

Gasps can be heard all around us as photos of us kissing are taken. It takes her a second, but she returns the kiss, wrapping her arms around my waist. I slip my fingers in her short hair, deepening the kiss and she breaks from the kiss. We were both out of breath, looking at each other as if we were the only two standing there.

She looks behind me and her eyes darken. She pulls me behind her in time to catch Trey's hand from connecting with her face. My eyes widen as for the first time Shawn fights back. One punch from Shawn left Trey laying unconscious. His friends brought him to the nurse as the principal walks up and starts yelling at Shawn for fighting.

"Mr. Albright, Shawn was protecting Beth from Trey. He was unzipping his pants when Shawn hit him," Tina, my co captain, says stepping up beside Shawn. "That's an attempt at sexual assault."

He looks from Tina to Shawn and asks in a serious tone, "Is that true Andersen?"

"Yes sir," she says quietly, in barely a whisper. "It won't happen again."

"You won't stand up for yourself, but you'll stand up for others," he asks her, trying to understand her.

"I don't like violence, but I won't let someone I care about get hurt by someone else if I can stop it," she says quietly as she glances me. "I wasn't about to let a girl be sexually assaulted, even if she's bullied me since freshman year."

Mr. Albright nods at this and walks away. I try to talk to Shawn, but she walks away from me. "That was hot," Tina says with a smile, watching Shawn walk away. "Go after her."

I catch up with her, stopping her with a hand on her chest. I meet her eyes before looking at her lips. I lick my lips and meet her eyes again with tears in mine. "I've had feelings for you, for years, but I was scared to admit it. I was scared of coming out, but I couldn't standby and watch Trey beat you anymore. That kiss wasn't just for show," I choke quietly. "I said those things because I was afraid of my true feelings. I'm in love with you Shawn."

"If you're telling the truth, then prove it," she chokes quietly as tears roll down her cheeks. "Despite all the negative things you said, I developed feelings for you too. So if you're playing with me, please don't."

I push her against the lockers and take her in another passionate kiss. I reach on tiptoe and whisper seductively in her ear, "I've been waiting for you to lose my virginity."

I look up and meet her aroused eyes. I could feel her press against her jeans and my breaths hitch. "Let's get out of here," I say in a breathy whisper and she nods vigorously.

She pulls me to her car and opens the passenger door for me. I get in and she goes around to the driver's side. She drives out of the school and asks, "Where are we going?"
