A Trip For two

After borrowing a small boat off the shore of Liyue Harbor, the two arrived at the small island that held the portal to the Aybss
"Here, take this," Ningguang gently handed her Beidou a sign and mallet. "we should put a couple of these signs around and then we can take care of properly closing this area off."

"Sounds like a good plan to me,"

"Good, because I don't have another one."

This has to work. What else will? What can i do? Call for help? Send the people of Tevyat into a panic? There is nothing else. This will work. This has to to work.

"Hey, Ning,"

Dragged out her thoughts, she looks up.

"Whens the last time we were alone like this, haha...maybe we should take advantage of it while we can, eh?"

Forget about it. This isnt the time to mope. you need to be there for her, for your people. This is beyond you.

"You're right, its so quiet here...we should have brought the chess board hah."

Beidou stands up and steps out of the the boat, "Alright," Beidou holds her hand out for Ningguang to take it, "lets get the out of the way and then relax, or, hah, even go back and get the chess board if you feel up to it all"

"I wouldn't mind just talking alone with you,"
Ningguang says with a insincere smile, taking her loves hand. Beidou giggles, completely fooled and swooning with only a sentence spoken.

The pair dance around the edges of the island, chatting and reminiscing over their time spent together. Every time they find a good spot, Beidou would give the lady the signal to get down and hold the sign and the captain would swing with her mallet and stick it in the ground.

Beidou plunged the last sign into the ground with a wham from her mallet, "There, All eight signs set up."

Ningguang tenses up

"Now what?" Beidou smirks at Ningguang

Ninguang opens and shuts her eyes and breathes deeply,
"Stand behind me."
Beidou smirks, confused
"Whatever you say Ning,"
Beidou moves a few feet away and wiats further instructions. Ningguang doesnt turn around and Beidou can tell shes getting nervous without even seeing her face.
Ningguang takes a deep breath in, as she raises the earth and rocks up from the ground, higher and higher they soar, until the wall is double her majesty's own height.

The wall was made of a variety of rocks directly from the ground around her and pieced together by The ladys golden-yellow magic. Despite being made from only what was available it was intricate and beautiful, just like the woman who made it.

"There. Now nothing can get in-"
Ningguang turns to face Beidou,
"and nothing can get out."
Beidou refuses to make eye contact, eyeing up the structure she just watch her love conjure up out of the ground.

Theres no fucking way shes going to be able to keep this stable for long, what the hell does she think shes doing?

Ningguang saw the distrust in her eyes, "Hey," Ningguang grabbed onto the captains hands, "its going to be ok," Ningguang placed her hand onto her loves cold cheek, "I'm going to be ok, trust me, this is what's best," she held Beidou closer, trying to make a tender moment, "for you, for me, and the rest of tevyat."

Beidou held onto Ningguangs delicately placed hand and lower it away from her face. "Then prove that you can still defend yourself." Ningguang stared at beidou for a gew seconds, "Well? are you gonna do it?"Ningguang smirked, trying to melt away her suspicions, she closed her eyes and concentrated, only flickering pale yellow light and shaking rocks that barely flew a few inches of the ground only to fall to the ground, she had nothing left to protect herself with. Ningguang pushed herself harder, I can do this, I have to do this. Finally her magic glowed a bright, golden yellow, though it was greatly overshadowed by the disaster like collapsing of the rockwall.

Beidou looked at Ningguang with a sad, somber frown as Ninggunag began to sweat, shit shit shit, "That was.. an accident!! We can rebuild and I will be able to use my magic without destroying it! I beg of you please-" Ningguang felt her body temperature rising as she began to sweat, Beidou, suddenly closer than Ningguang remembered, put her hands onto either side of Ningguang's cheeks and placed her lips on hers, she was ever so delicate and light with her love, careful and easy with her, than anyone or anything else, as she knew, this would be a goodbye.
"Ningguang, my lady, my love," Beidou ran her fingers through her hair, "Im so sorry." Beidou began to back away "For..what?" Ningguang inquiried, Beidou began to cry as she removed her vision from her top and walked toward the other end of the island, when Ningguang realized what she meant, it was too late.

Beidou was gone.
At least from here.
