Their gazes met in a mix of emotions. Rage and disbelief meeting mockery and contempt, the once peaceful hallway of the U-mart soon became dreadful while the smug girl stood facing the rageful mother of the kid that looked at her with teary eyes.

The mother's anger was palpable, both metaphorically and physically, the flames that surrounded her body matched the color of the red burning eyes filled with rage.

— Can't fight for yourself and call mommy? Lol, you suck. — The girl said while laughing nonstop, making the woman ignite in flames even more.

— I'll burn this smile out of your fucking face you prick. — The mother spit the words while getting closer to the girl, but she didn't lose her smile even then the heat of the flames threatened to burn the locks of her magenta and black hair.

— You know, if you do this you are not gonna like what comes next… — the girl said, her twisted colored eyes staring far behind the woman, focused on the person at the end of the hall.

— What do you think you're doing with my daughter? —  the voice echoed through the hall, the attention suddenly focused on the tall man that stood there, his hair black as the sky of a winter night without moonlight, with golden eyes fiery looking at the woman who yelled at the little gal.

—  This little brat just jumped at my son without a reason! And who the hell do you think you are to talk to me like that?!

His footsteps remained constant, approaching slowly, gradually cutting the distance to be front to front to the woman. Saying with a deep and sharp voice.

— Let me make myself clear for you miss, I'm not fucking asking what she did. You're not gonna lay a finger on my baby unless you want to choke on your teeth.

Not wanting to hear any more from the father the redhead grab the collar of the social shirt he was wearing, burning it as her grip connected, the man didn't change his expression, slowly laying his hand on the woman's wrist, and with eyes glowing like golden spheres, black flames formed intensely around him, lighting up the hallway.

— Ha! Now you're fucked loser! — The little girl cheered loudly, almost jumping from excitement.

His grip on the woman's wrist tightened, the smell of burning flesh filling the hall while the woman's countenance turned from anger to horror. Seeing that, the man released his grip and took a step back.

— Get lost before I break both your legs and make you walk to the exit. — The tar-haired man said, dissipating the eruption of flames that wrapped his body.

— Yeah fools, now go for the walk of shame! Get out of our sight! — She said sassy, throwing a soup can in the direction of the woman while she took her son and started leaving the U-mart.

Before another poor can could be thrown, the father bent down to face the little girl, his expression was enough to pass his mood.

— Fine… — she said, putting the can back as a sign of giving up, putting her arms behind her neck with a smug face.

— Jera… get the other can too, we're buying it, don't worry it'll be discounted from your allowance. — The man then smiles sadistically after seeing the face of his daughter.

The father and daughter left soon after the hallway incident, stopping by the tea shop where they religiously go after buying something on this side of the city. The Wooba Boba was as welcoming as ever, except for the twisted colored-haired girl, who followed her father with sad eyes.

— What would you want today mister John? — The waitress said gently to the frequent customer.

— The usual, please. — The tar-haired man answered politely, maintaining his eyes on his daughter waiting patiently for an explanation.
