My heart skipped a beat when I felt the train rushing abnormally on the train tracks. My sweat gathered all over my palms as I stumbled on the train. People started getting suspicious at the sudden speed of the train. I slowly walked over to the conductor in need to find out what was happening. And that's when I saw him - his hands aggressively moving in all directions, desperate to stop the train.
"Dang it! The breaks are not working!" He shouted out agitatedly to me like I was his advisor when actually I was just a passenger trying to help. I looked around the train dashboard hoping to find a solution, anything, to help slow the train down. Before I could ask him if he needed any help, the train suddenly bounced off the railway track and went crashing to the side and for a moment there, I saw windows smashing, people screaming, and then I collapsed to the floor.
I woke up dizzy and discombobulated. I looked around the train. I saw people lying dead on the floor, some extremely slow shifting from one side to another in indescribable pain. As soon as I stood up, my legs buckled and I fell back on my bottom wincing at the awful pain in my left leg. I noticed deep wounds scattered all over my leg and burns that when I touched, I knew were going to bruise. I dragged myself on the floor, looking around in hopes of finding anything or better said, anyone. The train driver was lying on the floor, and I slid over to him, trying to check his pulse. I could feel his heart pulsing slower and slower until there was no life in his body and that is when I knew that he had passed away. Uncontrollable tears started streaming down my desperate cheeks.
I unleashed a cry as I've never done before. "No, no, no! Please! Somebody! Please...!" I covered my face with my sweaty palms. I lay on the floor for I don't know how long and then, I felt as if everything faded away - like nothing ever happened...
When I woke up, I felt atrocious. My eyes were red, my palms were full of sweaty bacteria, and my emotional state, well, I don't have any words. I carefully stood up, gripping a railing to help me stand up. I looked around the train and stumbled upon the dead bodies and bags transported on the train. I thought about going through the bags just in case there was any food and other things that could help me survive for a while. It's not like I'm going to make it. I gathered all the bags, luggage, purses, and anything that could carry essentials, and pulled them all into a big pile. I rummaged through every single one and found the following items:
A couple of bags of snacks that could help me last for a while.
Cream, lip balms, and other products that I don't believe will help me much...
A few bottles of water. (There were more, but the bottle either broke and all the water escaped the bottle or it was crushed.)
Clothes that will cover me from any insects that I'll meet.
First aid kit, sanitizer, medicine.
Sunglasses and glasses.
I gathered them all and stuffed them in a big camping backpack. I guess whoever that belonged to was planning a camping trip. Too bad. Before I jumped out of the train, I looked around the train and whispered, "I'm so sorry." I hopped off the train and then looked around realizing that I was in the middle of nowhere.
"Great! Ugh!" I rolled my eyes in utter despair. I paced around the train for a while thinking of what to do. My mind felt like it sided with my joyful side instead of my 'I need to survive' side. I placed my fingers up to my temples, perhaps thinking that it will work wonders in helping me think. "Think, think, think..." I kept whispering to myself; it's not like I had anyone to talk to anyway.
I then looked up and saw tall trees dangling from side to side from the cold wind flustering over my halfway-dead body. I saw a small clearing ahead of me and decided to go check it out. Hours later, my feet were tired from my unfortunate, unrealistic, useless trip and I had to lie down on the mossy ground. Ferns spread around me like I was in some circle. A few moments later, I reluctantly stood up and continued my ineffective walk. Sometime later, I spotted an interesting plant a few feet ahead of me. I slowly went to it and crouched down to study it. The petals were a gorgeous violet pink and the stamen had a bit of red at the anther. My fascination for plants grew more and more as I grew older. I would collect all sorts of different types of plants from odd flower shops. Sometimes, when Dad would go on a business trip, he would instinctively look for flowers and plants that are not likely to grow where I live. Those were some good times.
I was about to pick the flower and put it in my jumper pocket when I noticed something crawling out of the stamen. I tried detecting it but it was so unspecifically odd. It had a big, blackhead and a rather small body for such a large head. Its legs were about one inch long and was quite a big insect as I might recall. It shot its utmost scary-looking eyes at me and I couldn't help but laugh. Once I sobered down, I saw it begin crawling out of the stamen and hanging onto one of the petals. I was quick to think of picking it up, but before I could decide against it, the insect did it for me. It turned around, its body facing my face, and squirted out a red liquid that spread all over my face. The smell of it made me want to vomit. The stench was absolutely awful and I shrieked.
"Get it off, get it off, get it off!" I stood up and started to vigorously search my backpack for wipes or fabric that I could use to wipe it off. I found a hoodie and started pressing it against my face, and rubbed it all off.
"Phew." I gasped and slowly grabbed my backpack and ran as fast as I could from the horrible incident. Once I stopped to inhale some air, I looked up and gasped. Behind some big plants laid a beautiful clearing. It was odd in a way because I felt like I ended up in Heaven.
"Woah." I breathed. "Is this what Heaven's like?" I looked around the clearing and saw that the grass was a Fuschia type of color. I gasped. It couldn't be. The grass cannot be such a strange color. I looked up and saw large plants covering the sky. I saw a bit of sunshine poking through the huge leaves. I noticed that there were no living creatures or insects there. I looked around and round barely being able to handle all of this glory. It looked ancient and forgotten. The place looked like a hundred years old that no one ever discovered. Did I just discover an unknown, perhaps forgotten place? I wondered joyfully. But when I turned around to study the place, my happiness changed to fright and dismay...
