KATRINA'S P.O.V
I toss an turn in the comfort of my bed, trying to stay asleep for the most part. The sun piercing through my eyelids is quite annoying, but I dismiss it and check the time.
7:27 a.m
Not too bad. Not too early and not too late. I get up and stretch my arms.
I have a game today.
I walk over to my dresser and look at my clothes, deciphering what I should wear today. I take out a large, almost oversized Gorillaz shirt.
Ha. Gorrilaz. My favourite band. Never gets old, huh?
I put on some ripped blue jeans to go with the shirt, and to top it off, my black vans. I tie up my laces and smiled, brushing my hair.
I pack my main school bag and stuff my baseball uniform and equipment into my dark blue duffel bag, but I notice, my bat is missing.
My fucking bat is missing..MY FUCKING BAT IS MISSING OH MY GOD!!
"CHORAL!! WHERES MY BAT?!"
I screamed as I ran down the stairs. My parents died in a house fire when I was young. I remember every single detail if that day, but I refuse to talk about it. It pains me to think that I'm not a 'normal' kid. But I have Choral, my adoptive father.
"I'm unsure, sweetheart. I think you left it in the car? It's unlocked, go check. Breakfast to go this morning?"
Choral spoke.
"Thanks, Choral!! Yes please, to go!!"
I ran out to my car, frantically throwing my bags in and scanning around for my bat. I check the boot, and sure enough, my solid timber bat rests. This bat was very important to me. It was the last gift my dad gave me before everything happened. I guess it's a luck thing, as it didn't burn in the fire.
I stuff the bat into my duffel bag with the rest of my equipment, and jog back inside, snatching my breakfast and waving goodbye to Choral.
I get in my car and start it up, pressing my foot to the gas, pulling out of the driveway. I drive to my school and pull into an empty parking space.
I grab my things and start walking in. I'm not popular, but everyone knows me as the sports captain. I'm the captain of the Girls Baseball team and the captain of the sports program here at westford high.
I make my way to the gym, like I do every morning. I walk to my locker and start unpacking my things.
"Morning, captain."
It was coach Daviz. I've known her for years now, she's been the only person I could really talk to.
"Goodmorning, Coach. What's up?"
I gave her a friendly smile and turned my body to face her, being respectful.
"New player. Transferred from St Chrisse private school. Play nice, okay?"
"You know me coach, I don't do things without reason."
The coach waved someone in and I turned back to my locker, continuing to pack my things into it.
"Uh..hi, you're the captain of the baseball team, right?"
"Mhm."
I heard their voice. She sounded rough. Her voice was scratchy and worn down, almost. Like an old mp3 player that has a broken speaker.
"My name is Katrina, but 9leade call me wild Ka-"
I turned and put my arm out, freezing when I saw a beautiful, tall figure infront of me. She had perfectly tanned skin, and her figure was so athletic and toned. Her hair was a light chestnut brown and oh my god.
Oh my god.
Her eyes. Her eyes were so mesmerising. The beautiful green you see when looking at an emerald, or the beautiful trees in a dense Forrest.
I hadn't noticed I froze up until she shook my hand and smiled. Her hands were incredibly soft
Wow..her smile is pretty.
She spoke quietly, snapping me out of the weird trance I was in. I smiled up at her, my face heated and red.
"My name is Nova. But my old teammate called me Chaos..mainly because I was better than them, aha."
"Don't be too cocky, Nov. My rlteams pretty good."
"I'm probably better"
Great. She's stuck up. Pretty, but very cocky.
"I wouldn't bee too sure, Chaos."
I finished out convocation and left the gym lockers. The day flew by pretty quickly. I went to all my classes and finally at the end of the day, school was over. My favourite part of the day had finally come. Time for a game.
