A View to Unity.
The morning came and the early sunrise was coming over the lagoon's serene surface. Tommy and Sidney were working on the bridge that would go from one tree to its opposing. Despite the distance being far, it wouldn't take them much longer to finish. Atticus had disapproved of their concept, but both boys continued with their plan regardless. Their procrastination was slightly underway, as both boys would occasionally make reference to the torrid weather, start dancing with silliness or ponder on how far a walk it would be to make it to the volcano on the far side of the island. Sidney and Tommy laughed, as they continued finalising their creation.
Rocky would sit and look around as Atticus was still asleep. Rising up to his feet, he felt the ache in his body after eventually getting to sleep. He knew that he was going to explore that day, seeing the new island and hoping to take in his surroundings. He watched Atticus and the rest of the boys sleep, as he crouched next to his left thigh. Tapping Atticus, he tried to wake him up. However, Atticus was in too deep a sleep. A frown plastered over Rocky's face, as he made his way behind the hut and into the jungle where he had met Atticus the day previously. He heard the crickets, and made his way through the undesignated pathways to delve deeper into the jungle. The greenery and palms were met by a strong hue of the sunrise printing over the bark, as Rocky made an ascent over some rocks. Nearly slipping off, he managed to pull himself up and let out a grunt as he stood up on the elevated area. Rocky noticed in a gap in the trees a sizeable cliff area, with a hole that from where he was stood seemed small. Pink shading was on its side, with a waterfall that ran down it. He couldn't hear the plummeting water from where he was, but his mouth was wide open with an amazement at its beauty and potential for exploration. A sudden sprint came over him as the nature would offer him access to run through the jungle to get to the cliff. Pants escaped from him, but he wasn't focused on that whatsoever. His arms swung in motion whilst he sprinted, leaping over anything that stood in his way of reaching it. In the far distance, the cloudy illusion of the volcano would perch in its glory, standing far and distant from the boy's end of the island.
There was a childish innocence to him that made the concept of exploring much more freeing and genuine, as he was met by a large opening of trees and small rocks that would assist him in getting up to the waterfall. He bent forward, catching his breath as he coughed. The desire to spit was there, but he felt like it would seem disrespectful despite the lack of people around him. Rocky paused for a moment before walking up to the rocks and starting to make his journey up. He managed to keep a steady grip on his way up, wandering his eyes to notice the waterfall. He tried to keep a reassurance to himself to not lose focus of his surroundings, as the sensation of the waterfalls specks hit his t-shirt. Whilst climbing up, he noticed that the waterfall would land into a large and very deep area of water, surrounded by bushes and hued rocks. He also noticed a steep slope that would go all the way up to the top, but it's gradient was far too steep to get up.
Rocky met a platform that kept him secure, though the height off the ground was now sizable. He planted his hands on top of some flat rock that would give him access to the waterfalls high origin, as he hoisted himself up. Laying down on the rock with exhaustion, he heard the waterfall and turned his head to his left despite his laid and nearly depleted state. Seeing the sight of the water falling off into what seemed like void was magical in his eyes, as he let out a chuckling laugh of joy. Making his way to his feet, he didn't want to walk over to the edge of the waterfall, the idea of falling off would result in death. He realised just how big this hole on top of the cliff was. Humongous in size, and black beyond it. Rocky looked right at it, trembling with fear as he realised why his father had never wanted his son to ever go caving. Walking towards it, there walking as an echo of water dropping from heights onto lower rocks inside of the large space of cave. Rocky looked down at the sizeable drop, noticing the sharp sections of rock that came out of the caves walls. At the bottom of all of this was an immense area of water, very deep but black at the bottom. Rocky exhaled, as he began to make his drop down to the bottom.
