17 year old Antonio Celdik was walking to his next class when he, like usual, was tripped by Johnny and his friends. As he got up he cursed at them under his breath. He didn't like many people. Didn't like talking or explaning things much. He didn't open up to others much or talk about anything. All his life he had been pushed around and bullied, how could he talk to anyone anymore. He thought very dark thoughts about what he could do to them if it was legal. He had dark thoughts about many things, and sometimes they escaped his mouths imprisonment. He got the nickname Death about 2 years ago when he said that he would slowly murder someone in history's most brutal way, summon their soul back to tell him the names of all of his loved ones, then reanimate his corpse to kill all of those loved ones. He could see how people got Death out of that. "Come on Death, still not gonna fight me?" Johnny said as Antonio started to walk away. "Nope" said Antonio "the time will come, and it's not that time yet." As he was walking away, he felt as if the confidence he said that in was inhuman. Something or someone gave him the strength to tell Johnny off. With that, he went on happily with his day. As he was walking home that day, he felt something watching him. It felt like a shadow, but also a spirit. It felt like he was being watched by Johnny and his boys. Yet at the corners of his eyes, he saw shadows jump in and out of sight. The small glimpses he got, they looked huge, not like a tree, but people. He shrugged it off and kept going home. As he was home, his parents were actually nice. Like something was making them...against their will. "Do you think hes ready?" The red spirit asked. "No, by the end of the week he will wake up rested, just go with the plan, ok." Said the pale figure. For the next week, he felt something off. Like something was happening. The weird part was that in each of his classes, there was a new kid. He said nothing, and Antonio saw him each time he got bullied. Like the new kid was waiting for the right time to do something. The kid was very skinny and pale. He didn't look like he could do much. He carried no bag and never did anything. Antonio felt something different about him though. One day this all changed. The kid was no longer quiet, or a teen at that. "Come on Ant" yelled Johnny "you said you'd fight when the time was right" SMACK. A clean shot to the jaw. Johnnys boys were keeping administrators back with knives and such. WHUMP. Another clean shot to the stomach. Just before Johnnys next hit, there was a crack, like a clap of lightning. Something, no, someONE landed in the courtyard and made a shallow crater in the courtyards concrete. Between all the kids was a 10x10 circle so Johnny and Antonio could fight. As the dust cleared, everyone saw the same person. A black hoodie, black skinny jeans, black vans shoes. Hood pulled over his eyes. As he was looking, down no one bothered to notice the scythe in his hand. The scythe had a sickly pale green essance that flowed off of it. It was about 8 feet tall, and held by a pale teen, about Antonio's age. Something else happened too. A crack in the courtyard between the boys as the pale figure had everyone move back. The crack widened into a red hole. Before anyone could realize what it was, winged demons flew out of the hole. Then ones with great talons or weapons. As everyone started to scatter, lights, walls of light showed up and covered the door in ancient symbols. No one seemed to notice either that the teen turned into a pale, muscular yet skinny figure. He swung the scythe wildly, yet with direction. Always hitting something. More just kept coming though. The demons wouldn't cease. After about two minutes of fighting. A huge comet came falling straight out of the sky. It landed making a crater three times the size as the previous hole by the teen. Everyone waited to see what happened. It was about two seconds before a short, bulky figure jumped out of the smoke and took out four demons in one swift motion with a stupidly huge sword. In a blazing fury of scythe and sword, the two took out every demon no matter how many realm holes popped up. They ended by cutting the heads and limbs off of the enemies who didn't make it back through the holes. "Hello children" said the red figure "I am War the Horseman." "And I am Death" said the pale one. Many murmurs among everyone. Antonio had an insanely stupid urge to talk to Death. So he walked up to Death as he was about to leave. He asked Death if he was the one who was protecting him and giving him the strength. If he was the shadows he was seeing. "Yes, I am. Come and sit outside your house at around 8 o clock tonight Antonio. I need to tell you something." And with that, Death summoned Despair and turned back to Antonio "Oh, and by the way, meet Despair" and pointing towards War who was on his horse "and Ruin." With that, the four were off, galloping across the courtyard into the field and streaks of red and pale green were all that remained. Everyone decided to go hone and not come back for a few days. When Antonio got home, the first words were "Dammit, I thought you died in all that." From none other than his "loving" mother. "The news was all over that. The men and demons. The fighting. "I thought you had at least gotten hurt." It was 6:30 when he got home, an hour and a half he kept telling himself. So close. His house didn't have any alarms and his mom was usually drunk and passed out by 7:30 so it wouldn't be so hard. 8:00rolled around and he walked outside to see 3 others standing there. 2 older girls and another guy about his age. They sat there like they were waiting for something. "Hey, what do you want?" He asked as he walked down from his house. "Same thing as you, we're waiting for him." said the girl in dressed in black. Just then, a rip in space then Death and Despair jumped through it. Landing right in front of them. "So, ready for story time?" "Sure" said Antonio. "I presume that no one introduced themselves." He pointed down the line "Ana, Neyly, Ajax, Antonio, there introduction done." Death then went into detail on how the Horsemen came to be and their powers and everything about their lives. "Thats pretty much it." After the story, the spirits of War, Famine, and Pestilence appeared next to Death. The spirits took home in their respective person to give them the rest of their powers. Then, Death walked up to Antonio and made it perfectly clear what was going to happen once he transformed. Antonio accepted it. With that, Death removed his mask and his spirit flowed into Antonio. When it was all done, they each had a scar on their face. Ana's went just perpendicular down her lip. Neyly's went down the side of her neck. Ajax's crossed over his left eye as if he was slashed. Antonios went from his right eye down to the right corner of his mouth. And with that, the horsemen knew their destiny.
