Chapter Nine

I puffed on my cigarette and put my favorite knife on the table. I sighed and looked at the night sky. I took my wet wiped and wiped the blood on my hand. My mission became bloody messy. Ayokong ayoko pa naman na nadudumihan ng dugo ang katawan ko kada misyon. Palaban ang pinatay ko ngayong gabi at talagang nanlaban. 

"Pat! I love you!"

I just rolled my eyes when I heard Agent Vaidehi's voice, one of our organization's spy. She's my friend, though she's annoying most of the time. Maingay siya at madalas nakakairita. Naiisipan ko na nga na lumipat na ng tinutuluyan para hindi na n'ya ako nahahagilap. 

"Wow, you look cool talaga as always! Kinikilig ako sa'yo! Ayaw mo ba talaga ako jowain?" she asked and pouted like a kid.

I just rolled my eyes at her and puffed on my cigarette. She admitted being romantically in love with me, though I don't know if I'm gonna take it seriously. Marami na rin naman ang nagkagusto sa aking mga babae sa organization namin. Sa totoo lang, puro babae na lang ang nagkagusto sa akin simula ng kalimutan ko na ang pagiging babae. I honestly don't mind really. I can also imagine myself ending up with a woman... That's much convenient. 

Ayoko sa mga lalaki. They always want to be dominant over women. I hate those type of guys. I don't want to be dominated by any male species. 

"I don't know, I feel nothing towards you. If I like you, romantically, I'll definitely date you," sabi ko na lang saka napabuga ng usok. 

Pinatunog ko ang buto ko sa leeg, masakit ang buong katawan ko. Ilang gabi na akong walang tulog dahil sa mga misyon. 

Maybe this is the downside of being one of the most skilled assassin in our organization, Umbra. Calliope, our leader that we also consider as our queen, depends on me a lot. Malaki ang tiwala nito sa akin kaya madalas ako nitong i-assign sa mga importanteng misyon. 

"Umuwi ka na, magpapahinga na 'ko," sabi ko na lang kay Vaidehi saka tumayo. 

"Huy, kakapunta ko lang, papaalisin mo na agad ako."

I just shook my head and removed my black leather jacket, my boots, and my leather pants. Hinubad ko na rin ang puting fitted sando ko, leaving me with only underwear and bra. I just tossed my clothes somewhere. I heard Vaidehi giggled behind me. 

"Ang swerte ko talaga! Ako lang ang nakakakita sa'yo na maghubad! OMG! Kinikilig ako, mag-sex tayo, please!" 

Hindi ko na lang pinansin ang sinabi ni Vaidehi at nagpunta na lang sa bathroom. Medyo madilim sa tinutuluyan ko. Sa abandonadong apartment ako tumutuloy ngayon. I have all the power and money to live in luxurious condominiums but I prefer living in this place. Walang nakakahanap sa akin sa lugar na 'to. Tahimik din dahil walang katao-tao at ibang nakatira. Vaidehi asked me how did I manage to sleep peacefully in a gloomy and dark place like this, but well, I'm used to it. Mas gusto ko ang ganito. 

I looked at myself in the mirror. I touched the long slanted scar on my face. There are times that I find this scar disgusting, but I'm happy that no one made me feel that way so far. Vaidehi always says that I looked hot with it... There's no hint of being womanly on my appearance. Maikli ang buhok ko at medyo ma-muscle ang katawan. I have faint abs too. I'm comfortable this way anyway. Being physically strong makes me feel confident about myself. 

Nang matapos akong maligo, lumabas na ako ng bathroom. Buti na lang at wala na si Vaidehi paglabas ko, pero nag-iwan siya ng pagkain sa mesa. Siguro alam n'ya na makakaligtaan ko na naman ang kumain. 

I just took the paper bag and went to the veranda. I sat on the chair and took the box full of fried chicken. May kasama pa 'yong beer. Napangisi na lang ako at kumagat sa chicken saka binuksan ang beer. Lulubusin ko ang ilang araw na pahinga ko.
