It had been four days since Kirishima was "rescued". Rin didn't take one step out of her room. She knew she would feel all excited having him there, but she would wallow in her own sadness knowing he wasn't truly there.
"Has she come out for dinner yet?" Eiji asked Charlie.
Charlie shook their head no. "She hasn't come out in four days-"
"I know..." Eiji sighed. "I'm gonna go bring her dinner."
"Okay, dad" Charlie said, walking to the dining room.
Charlie didn't like Kirishima(obviously), but only now did they realize how much he meant to Rin. Charlie did feel bad they didn't go back to get Kirishima, but in that moment, their family was the only thing that mattered to them.

Eiji knocked on Rin's door before slightly opening it. "Hey, Rin. I brought you dinner."
He walked in and set the food down on her table. Eiji sat next to her on her bed. "How are you doin?"
Rin didn't respond. The sadness in her eyes was the only thing he needed to answer his question.
"If you wanna come out and eat dinner with us, we would love that. Or maybe you just wanna watch a movie or something else?" Eiji suggested. fore slightly opening it.
Another quiet response from Rin was received. Eiji stood up and grabbed the plate from yesterday's breakfast, which hadn't been touched.
"I love you, Rin. I hope you know that." Eiji tried smiling at her.
Once again, a quiet response from Rin. Eiji sighed and walked out of her room, closing the door gently behind him.
