I was making my way to the elevator in my apartment complex after getting off a brutal shift at work with Karen's calling and complaining all day.
the elevator opened and I saw a little boy who looked to be about 12. I walked in and he looked over at me then proceeded to smash all the elevator buttons and run out.
I rolled my eyes and just accepted the fact that the door would keep opening and closing and I'd be stuck here for awhile waiting to get to my floor, but instead when the door opened I walked out in confusion looking around cause it seemed like I was in an empty office floor that stretched for miles.
I quickly turned back around to get back in the elevator but it had completely disappeared.
The wallpaper on this floor was a dirty yellow and I stepped on the carpet that seemed to be wet. Some type of liquid was saturated in it.
It caused my shoes to slightly get stuck every time I walked. The smell of coffee and mildew filled the air and the loud sound of buzzing ringed in my ears.
I turned back again to see if the elevator reappeared but it was completely gone. I didn't know what to do so I started to silently cry for a couple of minutes. I've seen this type of thing on YouTube videos I thought it was so cool but not real.
I was alone and I hated being alone so I was trembling not knowing if something dangerous could be in here. I walked for awhile with this nasty stuff on the carpet getting all in my shoes. I remember I had my phone and tried to turn it on but I had no service and it was on 17 percent.
It was an hour of me crying and walking. There was no food here, I for sure thought I was gonna die. An hour turned into three and I saw a random office chair and ran to sit on it. It felt amazing to sit down for a couple of minutes.
I heard someone walking and I peed a little from how frightened I was. The buzzing from the lights was pissing me off it was extremely loud.
I looked in the direction the steps were coming from and I saw a girl look around the corner.
"I didn't know you could see other wanderers here!" The stranger said excitedly running up to me. I hopped out the chair backing up from her. I didn't wanna take any chances I already had pee in my pants and an unknown substances on my shoes.
"Don't be scared I promise I'm safe. My names Billie. How'd you wind up here?" She said as she walked closer to me. If I die it doesn't matter I'm stuck here anyways.
"I was in my apartment complex and went into the elevator. A boy pressed all the buttons and ran. When the doors opened I saw this place and walked out like a dumbass now I'm stuck." I said crying.
"Don't cry. What's your name by the way?" She asked wiping my tears making me blush a little.
"Y/N my name is y/n." I said trying not to cry again.
"Don't cry. I'll tell you the story on how I got here. This is my 11th time dying and I get teleported back to level 0 after dying. It's like you can't escape. But I keep trying and I know a lot of stuff now after meeting other wanderers. Stick with me and we can help each other get out." She said smiling.
"SO YOU CAN DIE AND JUST TELEPORT BACK LIKE A GOD DAMN VIDEO GAME!" I yelled crying again.
"y/n stop being a crybaby, it will get you no where. I was just like you when I got here, but I didn't have the luxury of meeting someone as soon as I got here." Billie said gripping my chin.
"You're very touchy." I said sniffling.
"Well It happens when you're basically alone and finally find someone." She said letting go of my face.
"How long have you been here." I asked looking around the room.
"Come let's walk while we talk." She said grabbing my hand and holding it like I was a child. I liked it honestly it made me feel safe.
"Before I tell you everything just know we could lose each other at some point and you'll have to be on your own." She said blankly making my heart race at the thought of being alone in this creepy place.
"Basically how I got here is I fell through the floor. I was recording something at a very shady location cause I thought it was cool. When I jumped up I fell into the Backrooms." She said sadly.
"There's entities here that can kill you. Not in this level but depending on the level you go to some could be more hard to survive. The highest level I got to was a level with a bunch of random numbers probably 16 in total. I was so close to the last level so close to home." She said tearing up.
"Who's the crybaby now." I said with a smirk.
"Shut up, I'm surprised you don't know who I am." She said wiping her tears.
"I do, you're Billie Eilish. I was just scared thinking you were some type of replica of her that was gonna kill me, but then I remembered that you've been missing for about 2 months." I said looking at all the walls around me.
"Yeah my fans really miss me but I managed to get Wi-Fi and say where I was. Even got a picture of this place, but now my fans are trying to get to this place which is really dumb they're trying to be some type of saviors it's weird." She said scratching her head.
"I know I'll get out eventually I'm gonna keep trying. I want you to escape with me even if we can't find each other. I know we'll meet on the other side." She said smirking at me.
I had THE Billie Eilish holding my hand and casually talking with me. This can't be real.
We walked for hours then we finally made it to a different level. Well I assumed it was a different "level" I don't understand the Backrooms.
It looked like a big warehouse. The lights were flickering and I held onto Billies hand tighter even holding onto her arm a little with my other hand. I felt like a child holding onto their parent, it was embarrassing, but we walked further in and sat down on the floor for a second. She was taking a break getting ready to tell me about this level.
